As a way of avoiding spyware and pop-ups, Torpark successfully allows you to surf the Web anonymously, although the publisher warns of possible connection slowdowns.
The self-extracting file installs quickly, and you can run it from your hard drive, or as the publisher suggests, from a jump drive. Torpark adds to your browser's toolbar a few unobtrusive buttons, which allow you to activate/deactivate the tool and configure its privacy settings according to your specifications. The tool effectively restricts pop-ups; blocks surreptitious installations of adware, spyware, and cookies; and hides any traces of your surfing. You can check the Torpark Tools menu while visiting a site and build a list of blocked items for the current page; from the same list box, you may add to a white list any or all of the displayed items.
The publisher cautions that using Torpark may slow your Internet connection speed, particularly if you're using a dial-up, but we noticed no slowdown during our tests. Torpark is free, easy to use, and suitable for all users interested in protecting their privacy while visiting Web sites.

"Didn't work without a paid account"
Pros: Didn't find any
Cons: Free version didn't work at all. Paid version is $35 per month! AND even though it says no "uninstaller", there was one.
Summary: Uninstalled it immediately

"Worst Software I've Ever Downloaded!"
Pros: Absolutely no pros for this software! Worthless! Apparently it installed, I guess(?). I went through registry, my security software, and Program files. Only place I could even see it was the Program Files folder. Other than that...zilch! Worthless!
Cons: I clicked the shortcut in Start Menu and it appeared to start loading, but nothing showed up. Checked my Task Manager and it didn't even show up in there. Tried to un-install, but system said I can't because browser is running. DON'T DOWNLOAD!
Summary: After doing all I could to see what was going on with this software, I figured I would reboot. My system appeared as if it wanted to reboot, but then it locked up. I had to push and hold the Power Button on the tower itself. I have NEVER had to do t... read more >>

"This = 8TH consecutive 1-star review, yet CNET says 3?"
Pros: the time wasted is not as long as the time wasted with others
Cons: waste of time
Summary: doesn't do anything -- proxies are all recognized by websites -- complete waste of time.....
And, how in the hell have EIGHT of EIGHT ratings been 1 star, yet CNET shows this as a 3?
Gee, who's in whose pocket here? -

"Slow and Won't Completely Uninstall"
Pros: Nada. Zip.
Cons: Slow, routes to IP addresses already documented as proxy bypasses, and doesn't come with a full uninstall capability.
Summary: 1. VERY slow - felt like being on a 28KBps modem.
2. The IP addresses it routed me through were recognized as "proxy bypass" or "file sharing"
3. Doesn't come with a full uninstall capability. So, if you want to completely remove this fro... read more >> -

"xB Browser rained havoc with Windows Internet Explorer."
Pros: It does what it claims but you have to get rid of your other Internet Browser(s).
Cons: It would shut down often and is not friendly with Windows Internet Explorer.
Summary: If you want to slip past web guards xB Browser works great but it didn't work well with my Windows Internet Explorer. It's a solo browser.
