      "One Star"

      September 21, 2003   |   By MAC_1984

      Version: piPop 2.1.4

      Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Since it was complained that one star was a bit presumptuous, then I'll compare it with another product that is not LaunchBar -- FruitMenu (of which I am also a registered owner) and I can also state that it is also vastly superior to piPop. piPop is more annoying than helpful.

      "Great application"

      September 21, 2003   |   By epc

      Version: piPop 2.1.4

      Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
although it still needs some improvement. I also use LaunchBar, and they're very different things, so the one-star review and the comparison are a bit out of place.
After getting some "weird" behavior that did not appear on previous versions, I unchecked the "Click and Hold in Finder" option. I wasn't even aware of that function, and I don't need it.
I have a Recent Items folder and it shows as "Recent Ite" Adjusting font size and/or column with does not help much.
And just now activating the application while having the preferences open, I got a window asking me to register the program. If I check the About menu my copy does appear as registered. I actually have 2 registration numbers, since I already have the program and then I got it with Ten for X.

"very, very good idea but unusable"

      September 04, 2003   |   By goulsbra

      Version: piPop 2.1.3

      Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
i like the idea and the intrface very much but, sorry, but i can't use it.
behaviour is erratic:popups appear at random, now i've got a menu on the right side of my second monitor that won't go away... next time it won't open at all... handling of dual screen systems seems to be a problem...

then apart from that funny things happen to folders: my applications folder is certainly not empty - piPop tells me it is. this applies for lots of other folders (prefs etc).

please continue the development! this is a very good idea, much better than what apple offers for navigating files!

      "Miss Finder Pop?"

      August 30, 2003   |   By zo219

      Version: piPop 2.1.1

      Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Something's getting lost in the fine print. This app supports MOVE ITEM by CMM! Drag and drop! What a concept!

For lack of which ability, I was staying in Classic. Too many years of FinderPop, working nearly solely from the desktop and CMMS, smoothly and quickly -- why give that up.

But pick up a file or folder with piPop - and drop it where you want it, navigating with piPop's umlimited-level contextual menu. - and take a look at those desktop menus. *You* hold the mouse down, the *menu* moves.

This is the way scrolling oughtta work.(Another Apple-are-you-listening.)

And. .for you "kill the dock" fans. .. piPop can be set up as not just a dock replacement, it's superior to the <grrrr> dock. Try using piPop with A-Dock for a desktop that works.

      "Two monitors?"

      August 27, 2003   |   By Full Score

      Version: piPop 2.1

      Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Although I'm a registered user and this product has many nice features, it still does not work properly on dual monitor displays. I would also like it to display a hierarchical list of open documents in an open application. Without these two fundamental elements I cannot use it.

      "Good product"

      August 26, 2003   |   By mgf2

      Version: piPop 2.1

      Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
piPop is an excellent product for accessing frequently used files and folders, and it's very customizable and easy to set up. I have two small complaints with it: (1) a useful feature, allowing access from a tab on the screen that you size and place where you want, has been gone since version 1.4.4; (2) it would be nice to be able to access the menus through the standard contextual menu control-click (as with FruitMenu).
