phoneAlarm does add the essential control elements not native in Windows Mobile. Need to make sure that the phone rings softly in the middle of the night - or not at all - set that with pA. Need to make sure that you wake up on time? pA. Need an interface that gives immediate access to your most used applications - and the the weather forecast and a speed dialer? pA, again. Need to quickly switch between running applications or check and redial from recent call history? pA and generally with only 1 or 2 screen taps or a couple clicks on the directional pad.phoneAlarm. THE essential windows mobile application.
Das ist das beste Software auf meinen 02 XDA. Ich finde etwas neues jeden Tag und könnte jetzt nicht ohne phoneAlarm arbeiten.
I have been using this software for quite some time and I have to recommend it. Works very well with PPC 6700 WM 5 with many features and great skins to match your PPC theme. The only reason it did not get 5 stars is because it does not display the correct number of voice mail received. It seems to display only one voice mail on the UI no matter how many messages you have in your voice mail box. All in all though, great piece of software.
The developers sell this on the way it makes alarms more visible, but that''s only half the story. The main benefit is the way it gives you "one touch" control over your phone''s behaviour, for example switching the phone itself on and off. The concept of "profiles", which include all sorts of aspects like the light and power settings as well as those related to the phone itself make this a great tool for any PDA you move between different environments, and essential for a phone. I haven''t had any issues with usability or reliability, but I am still tweaking the profiles to get it set up "just right". A couple of things are missing, but could easily be added into a future version: some "landscape mode" skins, and a couple of buttons to directly launch the phone application and the user''s choice of voice dial application.
I sure do love the idea of what this software potentially offers. And because of that I gave it the benefit of the doubt time and again. Although it does many things well, there are too many small glitches and issues to be able to rely on it. I tried getting help from the popular forums but I see that many people are having the same problems. I hope future versions will be more stable (and offer a skin with larger buttons and not force you to use a Today plugin).
After a week exploring my new Samsung i730, I started wondering why I wasn''t getting voicemails. Dialed in to double-check, and bad news! -- had missed several critical messages. The i730 was giving no screen indication, since the "message bubble" in the top line is always on anyway when the PDA''s in its cradle. PhoneAlarm is worth the price for solving this problem alone -- but wait, there''s more! PhoneAlarm lets you set up seven profiles, each giving complete control over sound, vibration, and screen alerts AND whether they happen just once or keep repeating. They also control ALL the radios, screen orientation, and can even launch an app. This works great for flight mode, but is even more helpful to manage the i730''s odd Wi-Fi, which always turns off the phone and BT. I use one profile for Wi-Fi surfing, which sets up the radio and rotates the screen. When I''m done, I switch profiles and my phone and bluetooth radios are properly restored, as is the screen. My tip: there are many settings within the profiles, and if you try to create each one individually, your PDA could develop such a wild repertoire of sounds you''ll think it''s possessed. Instead, get your first profile tuned up perfectly, then use the "copy current profile" feature under Profilesand gt;Export/Import to duplicate it. Then, for the other profiles, make only the changes needed. Presto - your PDA/phone fits not just your hand, but your life, too.
If you use a Pocket PC Phone for work, this is a MUST have application. This applicaiton lets you set up different profiles for Work/Meeting/Car/Home and more. Each profile can change the characteristics of the entire phone. You can Not do with out this App!
I was extemely disappointed with the total inability of my Samsung i-730 to provide any sort of repeating phone, txt msg, or voice mail alarms. The LED won't even flash, at least not as supplied by my carrier. The device was almost useless to me if I had to look at it every 30 minutes to see if I missed something incoming. phoneAlarm turned it into what I expected out of the box. The customer support from Pocketmax is unsurpassed. I have never experienced anything like it. I highly recommend this product.
When I switched from a smartphone to a ppc phone I missed the profiles of the former device. I had tried a number of products that created profiles on a ppc but wasn't happy with any of them. Then I found phoneAlarm. What a great product. It did everything I was looking for and a whole lot more. And with each upgrade it gets better and better. This is an amazing program!
You can control everything with this software. It's right on your today screen from SMS to Email to Missed calls to Voice Mail to memory gauge, battery power percentage remaining and more. Customized notification profiles and profile time scheduling is a huge plus. The only con that I have found is the size of the today screen tool bars. There are 5 and all but 1 take up more room on the today screen than necessary. The mini toolbar skin is bland looking and hard to read. "Joel Blue" is best but could take up less room.
