Publisher's Description
From CyberFox Software:
A Java-based application allowing you to monitor auctions you're not part of, submit bids, snipe (bid at the last moment), regularly search for auctions, and otherwise track your auction-site experience. It includes adult-auction management (that is, the relevant cookies are supported), several currencies (pound, dollar (US, Canadian, and Australian), and euro), drag-and-drop of auction URL's, an original and unique 'multisniping' feature, a nice UI, and is known to work cleanly under Linux, Solaris, Windows, and MacOSX from the same binary, but provides platform-specific versions for Windows and MacOSX for ease of use.
What's new in this version: This version fixes the multiple breakages eBay introduced over the last few weeks, including changing the title format, removing (then adding back) the end date, and start date, many changes to different listing types, the change of the official time server URL, underbid page recognition, lots of bugfixes and features by Laurence Passmore (especially in the currency realm). Also added is a File menu option to clear Deleted entry tracking, which has been responsible for memory issues for some use... See all new features

"The best eBay snipper out there for the Mac......"
Version: jBidWatcher 2.0
Summary
...Period...

This has yet to fail for me, 2 years using, and picked up lots of bargains. Not sure why its still free, as other snipe apps, that don't work, charge quite a lot and I've bought most of them... Best of all jBidWatcher is now out of beta... Try it and make your own mind up... -
"Seems to have real problems"
Version: jBidWatcher 2.0beta7
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
All versions of this app have had their own particular problems. The developer is a one-product hobbiest â?? and there's nothing wrong with that given the app is free. But, no, he doesn't support the product very well.
JBid suffers from one problem in particular that makes it dangerous. It suffers from a gross overflow that only appears after a large number of files (auctions) have expired. It works fine for a while, but after it accumulates enough data it becomes weaker, finally stalling the whole system (common to java) and corrupting files along the way. The new 2.0 beta is no different. Either the developer doesn't know about this or he is ignoring it.
This is a beta. It has ALWAYS been a beta. That said, it is not in the same class as other beta programs out there, where once in a while something doesn't work right. Use it at your own risk. That's what beta means. -

"Worked great...for awhile...."
Version: jBidWatcher 1.0.2
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Really loved this program at first then all of a sudden just started having various issues:
-would not update auctions
-would not snipe
Operator error?-Sure it's a possibility but i have not altered my system since I've installed this!
Would I recommend -well i would say use at your own risk... On the upside it is free (Thanks by the way!!)...But if it's not working then... -
"Great tool"
Version: jBidWatcher 1.0.2
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
What motivated me to write this review is that just tonight a Paypal auction ended for an item that I wanted quite a bit, but I'd gotten caught up in this and that and totally forgot about it.
Fortunately, I'd set JBidWatcher to snipe the auction, and it won the item at a nice price.
I do wonder if those who've had problems have read the FAQ:
http://www.jbidwatcher.com/help/faq.shtml
very helpful, and quickly solved a problem that had cropped up as I was frantically trying to add the bid to JBW.
I've been using this app for quite a while now, and it's never failed to do what it was told to.
