Publisher's Description
From Disobey:
iTunes2HTML is a simplistic Perl script that generates an HTML listing from the "iTunes Music Library.xml" file automatically generated by Apple's iTunes. It was originally created as a quickie hack for my own personal list, and as such assumes some rather anal rules about the quality of your id3 tags (ie. "if the id3's aren't perfect, don't list this mp3"). Note: this script assumes you have a large collection of mp3s. While it will work with smaller collections, if you've less than 100+ albums, things'll probably look ugly.
Please note: this script is only to be run from the command line (either using Apple's Terminal.app or the Windows DOS shell). You shouldn't download this if you haven't had any experience with running command line applications. Also realize that this script was originally made for my purposes only, but after some popularity/feature requests, I've decided to mention it here. For me to make it as generic as every user would need would require a rewrite, and that's not going to happen ("it works for my needs") anytime soon (no time).
What's new in this version:
- tweaked help documentation a tiny bit. no worries.
- if the new "Compilation" flag is set, use "Various Artists".
- artist-album's longer than 81 characters are now truncated.
- the proper "added within" date is now shown (from cmd flag).
- if a genre has less then ten artists, only display one header.
