CNET Editors' review
Although iTunes has always been one of the best pieces of jukebox software available, the company improved upon a great thing with version 7, which added enhanced video capabilities and new ways to view your music library. A cleaned-up left sidebar makes finding your music and videos a snap and the new Album and Cover-Flow view options let you flip through CDs in style. The built-in video player accomodates both your own files and ones you buy at the iTunes Store; right-clicking a clip lets you render it iPod-compatible. With the addition of full-length movies at the iTunes Store (Music is no longer part of the name), you can now view near-DVD quality movies at a resolution of 640x480. The experience of both purchasing and playing movies and videos is almost identical to perfoming the same actions with music, so seasoned users will have no trouble (with fast broadband, movies download in about a half hour).
All the features we love from past versions are still intact, including seamless iPod integration, smart playlists, CD burning, label printing, the ability to rip files in multiple formats (except WMA), network sharing, and, of course, the enormously successful iTunes Store. Rounding out the feature set are parental controls, integrated podcasts, and a smart-shuffle option. Whether you're already among the converted or have yet to try this top-notch player, iTunes 7 should find a home on any media junkie's computer.
iTunes 7.7:Publisher's Description

"flaw for slowdown, noise may lie in synch or share"
Version: iTunes for Windows 7
Pros
look forward to simpler version of itunes and clear download sites with flip4 adds
Cons
great speed in download and shortcut icons, but this newer version has awful sound quality problems that may be related to genius synch, or synch setting with ipod or mac setting differences in playlist. I have mac and pc, and ipod nano.
Summary
itune uninstall very unfriendly; repeated prompts to update after multiple tries. This version since genius may be the culprit especially if we have uneven playcount files. I am just guessing based on how my corruption started with this newer version. My new asus netbook windows 7 explorer did alert me with a problem with an apple synch file, and after several attempt to create and synch my powerbookG4 with my new ASUS netbook did my itunes really start to go downhill. This sharing thing, guys with the differences in windows file sharing in media player, with ipod, and with itunes purchase playback rules shoud be looked at.

"A rush to release but was it worth it? Nope..."
Version: iTunes for Windows 7
Pros
I like the movie/video concept and adding album covers to songs (added my own whish I have saved).
Cons
Hogs system memory (1gig) with awful choppy sound when trying to work or do anything else while listening to some tunes.
Why does adding Album Artwork have to cost? It's a simple picture... (It's only a plus if the pics are animated)
This is my second let down from Apple, the first I can live with... going back to 6.whatever

"PAIN IN THE A$$!!! IT DUPLICATED ALL MY MP3'S...***?"
Version: iTunes for Windows 7
Pros
I like the interface, it's got style, but not worth the hastles of importing music into the library.
Cons
I don't like how it duplicated all my music files and when I tried to import a music cd it simply copied the first and same track x many times.

"At best a seriously flawed beta. At worst, dangerous malware."
Version: iTunes for Windows 7
Pros
1) Being able to see the album artwork in the listview is a nice feature. 2) Interface is slightly cleaner in general.
Cons
1) Playback distorted unless the iTunes process priority is set to 'Above Normal'. 2) Selecting the album-cover browser view crashes the program (perhaps because I have a large library). 3) Uses significantly more resources than version 6. 4) When running for the first time after install, iTunes scans the entire music collection for the new gapless playback feature. This process is not optional and can take a long time if your library is large (more than 4 hours for my 30gig library). 5) After upgrading to version 7, suddenly iTunes cannot find some of my music files. I strongly suspect it has deleted some of my music collection. 6) Visualiser crashes my machine. ---------------------------- See the iTunes forum on the apple website for a more comprehensive list of problems other users have found with this version. After trialling version 7 for 2 weeks, I can say it is definitely inferior to version 6, and needs some serious fixing.
I will be reverting back to verision 6 now, and I would recommend anybody thinking of trying 7 waits until the next upgade, or at the very least, back up your library before installing and trying out this software.
