This application recovers data from deleted or damaged hard drives, but demo restrictions hamper user tests. DIY DatRecovery iRecovery FAT/NTFS's basic, tabbed interface merely displays configuration settings and activity logs.
Novices will appreciate the simplicity of choosing the disk and partition to recover, while advanced users can alter numerous settings to improve the recovery progress. You can attempt recovery many times as this program doesn't alter the damaged drive but recreates the found data in memory to save it to another drive.
Directory and file searching are made easy through a wizard-like approach, but the scan process took quite a while. The program successfully identified our test machine's file system and listed recoverable data, but demo restrictions limited recovery to a single folder. The program works off a bootable CD to help recover damaged single-drive systems.
It is easy to use for novices, but configuration options offer strong tools for advanced users. Anyone suffering from a damaged hard drive will find this application's results acceptable.
