Filling your computer's hard drive with your favorite movies can be a costly or tough endeavor. iDVD Ripper helps you put any DVDs you own on your PC without much difficulty. The price is a little steep, but the program is worth paying for when you consider how much it saves you in the long run.
If you don't pay $35 for the full program, you can only rip the first 10 minutes of any DVD. That trial is enough to see how many options you have when using the program. It supports most of the major DVD formats and even helps guide you to the right format based on what device you're going to use for playback. Converting is usually quick, unless you choose the most high-demand settings. Thanks to a treasure trove of available options, it's possible to enhance your video file in numerous ways. iDVD Ripper allows you to change both big stuff like resolution and frame rate and small things like audio bitrate and de-interlacing. Though the program is easiest to use when you're ripping a DVD, it rips ISO files remarkably well, too.
The plentiful options and quality transfer make the program worth the lofty price tag. The only real downside is the program's crummy, too-blue layout. Everything else about iDVD Ripper is commendable and downright enjoyable. If you want to get your feet wet in the wild world of DVD ripping, it's an awesome place to start.

It functions well, is uncomplicated and quick, the interface is well done, with big icons and a friendly interface. Support the various formats I use: DVD to DivX/MP4. Allow for low-to-high quality (bitrate, sample rate, etc.)

Pros
Another good DVD ripper I found. It will rip or convert just about any type of DVDs and it does so quickly and efficiently. Definitely worth the extra effort downloading and installing it takes to be sure and get only the program itself and not the extras that CNET will attempt to install. I just love this app.

Simple interface. Copied a dvd that I never thought I could copy to avi format that my computer would understand, figuring it had special security codes on it, but this program finally did the job for me and produced nice output. Superb! The features for adjusting output quailty for file conversions are so good also.

Having used several other applications that worked faster but produced grainy output with poor video/audio synchronization, I'm really pleased to finally have found something that WORKS so well. It works great and is worth every penny, I have backed up many of my DVDs with great success. THANKS!

Creates beautiful movies for my ipad and i haven't had a single error of any kind in the dozen or so movies I've ripped. In summary, this program sports an easy to use interface with fast and reliable ripping.

use this program somewhat infrequently; primarily to rip my son's DVD cartoon movies to iPad. When I do use it, however, it is simple and fast to use. At those times, it then becomes a must-have and it has never let me down.

This software loads up, runs, and works very quickly with no glitches whatsoever. It is very easy to learn to use and is very efficient. It helps me to rip my DVD collection to my iPad with excellent output quality and does it in quick fashion.

it is very user friendly even my children can do conversion from DVD to .wmv with just a few click of the mouse. Rips way faster than itunes, and video and audio quality are very good, a pretty solid program.
