From iCanEXPORT :iCanEXPORT is a free software for exporting music from your iPod to your PC. If you have legal sound files (mp3, wav, aac) in your iPod, now you can export them to your PC. For example: music that you produced, that you bought and have the legal permission to copy. If you have formatted your PC and lost these music, now you can download them from your iPod.

"Basic program but very effective"
Pros: quick install - installation is a one page wizard that takes less then 5 seconds
automatically finds removable drives
finds music fast - found 800 of my songs in less than 4 seconds
choose where you want your music to go

"Works fantastically well, highly recommended for all iPod users...."
Pros: It is fast, no adware, easy, good quality, and no hassel. I have seen these programs sold for $20 with limited reliability, this one takes care of all the formats and its fast and its FREE!
Cons: There dont seem to be any cons.

"Homemade program: simple, fast and effective."
Pros: Great program. Really easy to use. Allows you to have backups of your files in different computers, transport music from one to another.
Cons: Might seem frozen with while large transfers but the program keeps running - just have to wait.
Aside that, excellent

"Works great! Display freezes during big transfers, but it continues copying!"
Pros: Works great for copying off your library from your iPod. To select your entire library or a big chunk use the shift and Ctrl keys. Display freezes during big transfers, but the program is NOT frozen! It will unfreeze when the copy operation is complete. You can monitor the progress in the target folder window. Just remember to open it before starting the transfer.
Program is totally free!

"Highly recommended - quick install, easy use for small or large number of songs"
Pros: Very good, the only fully free software that I could find to effectivly rip music from an iPod.
Note: make sure you 'enable disk use' on the ipod you wish to rip from to ensure the program can detect the ipod.
Pros:
- select copy location
- copy entire library or individual files
- choose file name format
- quick to download and install (less than 2 mins)
- no adverts/spyware
Overall - brilliant
Cons: doesn't save settings when the program is closed
