Publisher's description
From PC Tools :With iAntiVirus you are protected against the most nefarious cyber-threats attempting to gain access to your Mac and personal information. iAntiVirus provides free real-time protection and comprehensive system scanning to ensure your Mac remains safe and virus free. The iAntiVirus database has been designed from the ground up to detect and remove Mac specific threats. This enables a high level of protection whilst keeping memory footprint and resource usage at a minimum.
The iAntiVirus database is not cluttered with signatures for Windows specific threats which your Mac is already immune against. This means you get the protection you need without the extra resource required to process the threats that are not relevant your Mac. iAntiVirus protects you against Mac specific viruses, worms, Trojans, keyloggers, dialers, spyware, adware, toolbars and hijackers like the Mac DNS-Changer trojan. Version 1.2 improves performance and fixes conflict with Time Machine.

Version: iAntiVirus Free Edition 1.35
Pros: Installed OK and scan was reasonably fast.
Cons: At times a process from iAntivirus used over 90% cpu cycles. It caused my laptop to get very warm and fan to run fast.
Summary: This is a good ideal for Mac user's. But I tried it with Snow Leopard and experienced the high CPU usage. I do not know if this is a problem with Leopard. I ended up uninstalling it.

Version: iAntiVirus Free Edition 1.35
Pros: Unobtrusive, simple to use, low overhead - aimed at OS X threats Anti-Spyware active scanning included. Free version only missing live support over paid for personal use.
Cons: Program will occasionally start using 90% or more of processor on my dual core 2.3 or so G MacBook and a large Ram footprint. Worse, company seems in denial with reps on forum saying "I can't get that to happen on my computer." Not a unique issue.
Summary: I like the product, but the company which I believe to be very reputable seems to be dropping the ball ? if nothing else in their handling of the CPU issue.
I think that support is an important aspect of how any software package operates,... read more >> -
