From Chris Wood:gAttach allows you to easily attach files to new messages in Gmail or Google Apps Mail. All the features available in Windows that were once only available to your desktop mail-using friends are now available to all Gmail users. With gAttach!, you can: send emails directly from: Windows Explorer, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Windows Live Photo Gallery, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox; automatically attach files from your PC to a new email without manually uploading each file; choose to suppress the annoying standard text provided by Windows ("Your attachments are ready to send.."); handle "mailto" email links in web pages. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.

Doing for Gmail what the MailTo link does for Outlook, the wonderfully simple gAttach is a small utility that reassigns Gmail as the default mail account from Windows documents. With gAttach installed, selecting Send from Windows Explorer, Firefox, and Microsoft Office automatically attaches the files to a Gmail composition instead of opening Outlook mail. Though effortless, we wish we could associate some file types with gAttach and let others default to Outlook. Also missing is a way for gAttach to automatically divide, where possible, e-mail compositions that breach the 20MB upload limit.

Cons: I never could get this thing to work. I uninstalled twice and reinstalled and it never worked.

Pros: I sent a 5 GB folder of photographs via gAttach and it performed very well, created the folder in gmail Drafts, which then opened up allows you to add more files and any text you like. Sent it quickly, arrived immediately. Excellent.
Cons: It seemed to change my gmail page, changing the text size and font colour, but this was quickly restored by logging out of gmail and signing in again.

Pros: This is an excellent software and for the people who does not have outlook this is a must thing to have.
