Version: eJukebox 3.991
"eJukebox is simply the more advanced jukebox program I've ever seen!"
Pros: Probably you have many songs on your PC... but you can't feel so much pleasure than handling your physical CD collection? Well, you are lucky: The eJukebox first purpose is to recreate for you all these physical sensations!
First you will be invited to import your music scanning your PC, or directly from your CD collection using the buid-in CD ripper.
Then eJukebox will try to download the missing cover arts, but your own albums images are also automatically imported from the ID3 Tags of mp3s, cover.jpg or folder.jpg files found in your folders during the scanning process.
eJukebox interface combines -VERY INGENIOUSLY- in a split window:
- A Player displaying the "Now Playing song" with the corresponding album cover art. And the image is freely resizable to you your convenience!
- A Playlist / auto-playlist (with a small cover art of the Next queued song)
- A scrolling Artist list (very useful!)
- A Song Browser (displaying all albums details with their cover arts)
- A scrolling Album list page where album covers are grouped by artist!
In a few clicks you can create a instant playlist, simply dragging the songs or any album cover you want to add (You can also reload any saved playlists).
It's to much work for you? Or there are no more songs in the playlist? Let eJukebox autoplay your best songs using ratings or songs popularity modes. It can also randomly play selected artists, genres, years range... All is adjustable in the Autolist builder!
Plus: eJukebox is skinnable. You can use a touch screen. There is a kiosk mode for parties. And thanks to the additionnal "eJukebox2web" interface, you can even listen to your music from another PC in your local network or anywhere in the world!
In a word, buying eJukebox is like if you rent the best DJ, for life!! eJukebox will magnify your musical experience!
Cons: The album arts autolookup feature still needs to be improved... I advise you to desactivate it until Audiosoft has improved this feature!
I also advise you to fix all your mp3 Tags BEFORE importing your files in eJukebox: There is a build-in tag editor, but that will be more easy if you have fixed them before...
PS: Don't forget to join in our international community on the Audiosoft forums. You are welcome!
Pirk (Sorry for my bad English!)

Version: eJukebox 3.991
"The most innovative jukebox software I've seen."
Pros: I've been using this program for a couple of years now. And there are many positive things to say about this innovative jukebox software.
Ejukebox has an albumlist which can be sorted and viewed in several different ways. In additon to this the homeview shows popular songs, albums and artist in a stylish billboard fashion.
Ejukebox has an excellent autoplay system. It can play music from your collection based on rating, genre, year and more. The autoplay system will be even better when the new autolist builder is properly implemented. Ejukebox makes me able to play my favorite tunes without needing to set up a playlist first.
In additon to this the software is skinnable and can be customized to your personal taste. Different skins can be downloaded from the ejukebox forum, where you also can get help and good tips from experienced users of the program. As well as feedback upon your own suggestions from the programmer.
Cons: Autolookup of cover-images doesn't work that well. It often misses on rare albums, and is only capable of downloading small gif images (256 colors). The best workaround for this is to use tagging software (like tag&rename) to fix tags and images in for your albums before you import your collection into ejukebox. An fix for this has been promised by the developer, who doesn't hesitate on implementing functionality suggested by users.
The program can be quite resource heavy due to its graphical nature. But its almost worth an hardware upgrade in itself.
Ejukebox can only write tags of the mp3 and mpc format. Writing to formats like ape, flac and wma will not be saved and lost after rebuilding the music database.
Despite this the program is in front of the competition for this kind of software. And some smart and innovative functions are found throughout the program. I would suggest that you try it for 30 days and make up your own mind. I, for one, could not live without it after 30 days of testing.
