CNET Editors' review
doPDF is a fairly basic program that's utterly bereft of features beyond its main function: to let users create PDF documents from within any program using the native Print option. Along with whatever printer you've got hooked up that shows up in the Print dialog box, doPDF adds an eponymous option. Select it, hit print, and you get the chance to change the name of the PDF you're creating. Hit enter and the PDF gets created, then automatically opens for you to proofread it.
Lacking any customization features and the control panel to manage them, doPDF is definitely meant for fast PDF creation with a minimum of fuss. It does support a multitude of languages, a minor feature except to those who don't use English as their primary language. One benefit of not having any major features is that doPDF takes up almost no RAM.
doPDF gives a simple output dialog box for altering the name and saving location of the PDF, and by clicking on Advanced Options, users can manually adjust the resolution of the PDF they're creating. However, unless you know precisely how resolution changes will affect the size of your PDF, this can be a bit tricky. doPDF is great for those not looking for a lot of a options, but for any project requiring a bit more finesse, it's worth looking at the competition.
Publisher's Description
From Softland:
Using doPDF you can freely convert documents to searchable PDF files from any Windows application. It installs as a printer driver and helps you generate the PDF files by simply selecting the "print" command from any application (you can convert your Word documents, Excel sheets, PowerPoint presentations, AutoCad drawings, company's reports, contracts, workflows, agreements, marketing plans, forms, products list, price list, charts, emails or web pages). The resulted PDF files can be viewed on any computer with a PDF viewer (reader) installed. doPDF has a lot of features that allows you to: modify the paper size, modify the resolution (from 72 to 2400 dpi), change page orientation (portrait, landscape), and change the quality settings.

"Sometimes has font errors"
Version: doPDF Free PDF Converter 7.2.359
Pros
Easy to use
Cons
If you print from different computers often you will some times get font errors that are not viable until you actually print. I.e. some letters will be corrupted.
Summary
Use a different program, like BullPDF, if you need to print from different computers often.

"Runs okay, but lots of steps"
Version: doPDF Free PDF Converter 7.2.359
Pros
I like how easy it is to make a PDF right through any software that will let you print.
Cons
It has a lot of ads. And it is a huge hassle just to make 1 PDF.
Summary
Get it, but be prepared.

"Much better than latest version of Primo!"
Version: doPDF Free PDF Converter 7.2.359
Pros
Does exactly what is required without any frills
Allows for varying page sizes up to A0 (24" x 36" equiv.) and custom set resolutionsCons
None so far
Summary
As a long time user of Primo, I was getting annoyed by the nags that suddenly occurred after the latest release went live (how this happened on my earlier version I don't know)
After reading the poor comments on CNET about the latest version of Primo, I decided to 'upgrade' to doPDF.
I'm very glad I did! Excellent program! -
"Simple and esay to use, and it's free!"
Version: doPDF Free PDF Converter 7.2.359
Pros
It has a simple interface, easy to use, I didn't need to change any configuration, and it's quick creating the desired pdf file.
Cons
At this moment I can't remember nothing to complain.
-
"Lightweight, SIMPLE PDF Program!"
Version: doPDF Free PDF Converter 7.2.359
Pros
Simplest PDF printer you can find. Doesn't print it's logo like Foxit. Supermegaawesome.
Cons
SIMPLE. Not many features beyond uber-language support and Save As interface has a few options, like optimizing for file size/images, embedding fonts, etc.
Summary
Really, unless you're a publisher or graphic designer, this is all you need in a PDF printer. Don't go for PrimoPDF--it includes adware. Trust me, I thought that many downloads couldn't be wrong--and cnet doesn't allow malware, right? Wrong. This is the program you want.

Cons

-
"hard to update"
Version: doPDF Free PDF Converter 7.2.359
Pros
a great way to create clean .pdf's right out of MS Office apps, and free, too!
Cons
tho you may not have this difficulty, i spent a few hours updating the software, apparently because a file from the old version didn't get completely deleted.
Summary
recommended, with a caveat...
need to make the update process as automated as possible...if they can put the list of files on a webpage for me to hunt down, i'd think the updater could find and delete them as well.
