Just to be clear: this is a different program from the popular Guitar Pro, a well-known tool for teaching and composing in tablature. Whatever the superficial similarities, aGuitar Pro is designed more as a general teaching tool for music theory and beginning guitar. The interface is smooth, although the application's extensive feature set takes some time to understand and master. It contains a large number of exercises aimed at developing a musical ear, along with a MIDI-based virtual band that accompanies students as they learn. The software allows tablature-based music to be imported from text files, a convenient way to extend the range of songs supported. The tool can be used freely for 20 days before the trial period expires. We would recommend the download to beginning guitar players who also want to develop their sense for musical theory.
