Though it lacks the advanced features to compete with the market's big-name media players, this small, no-nonsense offering still supplies all the basics. Zoom Player Professional supports a large number of audio and video formats, so chances are it can handle most media you throw at it. The interface can be viewed in several modes, including full-screen, but no matter which you choose, the design is rather minimal. We appreciated that the viewing screen is so large, but the downside to this is that it's sometimes hard to access the small control buttons. You will find an equalizer with a number of presets, but Zoom Player Professional doesn't have tools for converting files, ripping CDs, burning discs, or organizing your media library. That said, those looking for a no-frills way to enjoy videos and music could do much worse than this program.

Publisher's description

From Inmatrix :

Zoom Player can be learned by a four-year-old in minutes, but it may take a lifetime to explore its feature-rich capabilities. DVD front-end functionality allows you to utilize any previously installed DVD decoder within the interface. The program supports advanced remote-control navigational interfaces, allowing you to control every facet of the player without ever leaving your couch. It plays every format imaginable (AVI, DixX, XviD, MPEG, FLAC audio, Monkey's Audio, Matroska, Windows Media, OGM, RealMedia, QuickTime, Flash) and is updated on a regular basis. Every feature is fully documented and the program supports all the latest playback technologies (multimonitor, VMR9, P2P preview), and sports one of the most active support forums you can imagine. It's designed for use as an everyday media player, all the way up to a home-theater, PC-control center.
