An effective and easy-to-use firewall program, ZoneAlarm does a great job of keeping your PC safe from a variety of threats. ZoneAlarm makes configuring a firewall, which sounds like a daunting task to the majority of computer users, incredibly easy with a wizard. Maintaining and updating settings also is a snap when you're using the stylish interface and its simple slider controls. The program's Zones feature also allows you to assign different security levels for a local network and for the Internet. We found ZoneAlarm very good at recognizing and automatically including settings for our local network. In all our tests, the firewall guarded against all external and internal threats it encountered. Therefore, we think ZoneAlarm is an excellent firewall choice for just about any average user.Publisher's description
From ZoneAlarm :ZoneAlarm is designed to protect your DSL- or cable-connected PC from hackers. This program includes four interlocking security services: a firewall, an application control, an Internet lock, and Zones. The firewall controls the door to your computer and allows only traffic you understand and initiate. The application control allows you to decide which applications can and cannot use the Internet. The Internet lock blocks Internet traffic while your computer is unattended or while you're not using the Internet, and it can be activated automatically with your computer's screensaver or after a set period of inactivity. Zones monitor all activity on your computer and alert you when a new application attempts to access the Internet. Version 6.1.737 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

"Still waiting for the stablity of v5..."
Pros: Okay, so zonealarm has kept the two things that make it an effective user friendly firewall - program control & port blocking.
The program control (allowing you to choose which applications have internet access rights) is great and the protection of your ports is impressively effective.
The appearance of the client is also quite snazzy!
Cons: Zonelabs continue to add features, options and memory usage to this client, most of whcih I will never use and find irrelevant.
I haven't experienced stablity in any version since 5.5.
They urge you to stick to the latest release for up to date protection but the crashes, freezes, and generally bulkiness and annoyance of version 6 makes me feel happier just to stick with version 5.5 which has excellent protection anyway.

"The BEST Free Firewall ..... MUST for every Internet User"
Pros: ZoneAlarm Firewall is the Best FREE Firewall Program available Today. However if you are running on Windows XP with Service Pack 2, you will get a default Firewall bundled with it.
But this is the Most Recommended Firewall or all Versions of Windows Operating Systems .... It Blocks all the Intruders and other hackers from gaining access to your computer.
Its 100% Free however paid Pro version is also available.
Cons: I'm using ZoneAlarm version:6.1.737.000 for more than 6 months & didn't have any problem, Its Simple & easy to Use.

"It passes all of Sygates Security Scans!"
Pros: I have tested this software against all of Sygates security scans online, that is Quick scan, Stealth scan, Trojan scan, TCP scan and UDP scan, and it passed all the tests! All ports were hidden (stealth mode). This software is really fantastic! It is also free! Bjorn Lundahl, Gothenburg, Sweden

Pros: This is good & i think that's much better choosin' only ZONELABS firewall than whole SECURITY SUITE . Anyway it will blocks many websites & filesharin' programs , but will keep pc quite safe . So if u don't like filesharin' & web surfin'...choose this !
Cons: Poor database despite its aggressive behaviour & that's because it often blocks object that it doesn't know (...often innocuous & useful objects...) . Approximation is not right for a security program & this is really rough ! It also needs RAM to work & much RAM ! Boring : always askin' if u allow this or allow other entries...COUNTERSPY is measured & helpful...ZONEALARM excessive & irritating !
