Along with its effective and easy-to-use firewall and additional security features, this new version of ZoneAlarm Pro revamps the mostly solid antispyware protection introduced in the last release.
ZoneAlarm's wizard makes firewall configuration and maintanence incredibly easy, with a stylish interface and simple slider controls. The app boasts an ultrasecure triple-layer firewall and experts will appreciate the customizing options. The Zones feature allows you to assign different security levels for local networks and the Internet. The program was very good at automatically including our local network settings and auto-detected wireless machines. In all our tests, the firewall held strong against all threats it encountered.
The suite also includes an antivirus scanner, a cookie cleaner, ad and pop-up blockers and new antispwyare tools. Happily, the app offers both real-time protection against malware as well as a scanning engine. In our tests, spyware scans were blisteringly fast and almost always accurate, though some minor traces were left behind. The real-time module could have offered more information from directly within the program on potential threats. Other features include Web site-specific protections, an ID Lock for personal information and a configurable site-blocking content filter. With a tougher firewall and the antispyware tool strengthening, this excellent program just keeps improving.

"Still...The Best when it comes to (True) security."
Pros: This is about the only Firewall that provides total port(s) protection and,it ain't just "here-say" 'Test it youself (If) you know how to do it and,that says it all.
Cons: Dislike the (15-Day) trial,..Should be 30-day trial, It takes some learning involved with this product and 15-days is not sufficient for most.This is why most people have said they either have never tried or by-pass the download.ZA could do better.
Summary: port 113 is probally the most dangerous port on any PC....most firewall leave this open for things such as e-mail etc.so a PC is never truly in a full stealth mode.there are very few programs that close this port and when you find one that does the ... read more >>

Pros: Froze while installing.
Cons: Have serious incompatibility issues, try at your own risk.
Subscription based.Summary: Decided to give it one more try and hopefully the issues it had before will have been solved, but no. Program was a waste of my bandwidth and time due to restoring my computer as it freezes everytime at startup with it partially installed. I'm done ... read more >>

"Note! ZAP 9.0.114.000 - Simplified to a pure Firewall !"
Pros: 1.) This version is a pure firewall
2.) Spyware handling is removed
2.) Easy to configure
3.) Best Firewall to get ports "stealthy"Cons: 1.) Difficulty to save changes! Tips: After changes, go to Firewall -> Zones -> make a minor "fake" change, ZAP will save settings automatically!
2.) Spyware scanning is removed!
3.) No Email support
4.) Blue is the only option for backgroundSummary: I am looking for a pure Firewall, and this version of ZAP is the best one!

"Very easy to use,problem free."
Pros: Good protection.Very active when danger appears.
