- "A one-stop security solution"
- Version reviewed: ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 8.02
ZoneAlarm Internet Security 2009 requires a small initial download that in turn launches a full download of the latest version of the program from Check Point. Installation requires a reboot. A helpful wizard walks you through the initial setup.
The new interface is cleaner, less complicated, and more modern. The other new features within ZoneAlarm Internet Security 2009 are less visible and mostly under the hood. Boot time is much faster in this latest version, as are the individual scans for antivirus (using the Kaspersky Anti-Virus engine) and antispyware (Check Point's own engine). The suite includes spam protection from SonicWall, and, of course, Check Point's award-winning firewall. The paid edition includes identity-protection coverage. Missing is antiphishing and safe-browsing protection; these are available from Check Point Force Field and not yet a part of the ZoneAlarm Internet Security suite.
ZoneAlarm Internet Security 2009 does include an uninstall icon in the All Programs listing, and uninstalls cleanly. But keeping the 15-day trial installed might be a better idea; if you do decide not to purchase the full program at $49, Check Point keeps the basic ZoneAlarm firewall active on your desktop.

Version: ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 8.02
"Zone Alarm 8 carry bugs on Windows XP service pack 2"
Pros: It is a updated version of all previous one. All features are clubbed together with newest front view.
Cons: During installation of Zone Alarm version 8 on Windows XP service pack 2 or 3 it stop the operation of Windows Automatic Update. If you go to service panel of windows nobody will able to restart the Windows Automatic Update service which is drawback.
Summary: All the previous versions of Zone Alarm Suite were really good. If the updated version of Zone Alarm Security suite 8 remove any file or dll of Windows Automatic Update then it should really improve before final launching in the market. Windows Auto... read more >>

Version: ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 8.02
Pros: Low Memory Footprint, Excellent Firewall
Cons: May be hard to configure for "average" computer users, occasionally slow, may inhibit connectivity with xbox 360 streaming
Summary: I have had only a few minor problems with this. It has a low memory footprint, i.e. won't slow your system down. Also, its an excellent firewall. Only problem I have encountered it problems with streaming media to an xbox 360. I have set up a rule ... read more >>

Version: ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 8.02
"The BEST all-in-one security solution available."
Pros: Much lighter on system resources than version 7 - even with the on-access scanning turned on. The firewall is top-notch, the anti-virus has not failed me, and the anti-spyware works well.
Cons: Some sneaky pop-up windows still get through on rare ocassions, but no pop-up blocker can block all pop-up windows 100% of the time.
Summary: Uses MUCH less resources than previous versions. Also, it seems users are having issues with v8.02, but I am using the latest v8.059 and am not experiencing ANY issues whatsoever. If you have an older version and are having "issues," I suggest you... read more >>
