- "A one-stop security solution"
- Version reviewed: ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 7.0
Along with its effective and easy-to-use firewall and additional security features, this new version of ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite revamps the mostly solid antispyware protection introduced in the last release.
ZoneAlarm's wizard makes firewall configuration and maintanence incredibly easy, with a stylish interface and simple slider controls. The app boasts an ultrasecure triple-layer firewall and experts will appreciate the customizing options. The Zones feature allows you to assign different security levels for local networks and the Internet. The program was very good at automatically including our local network settings and auto-detected wireless machines. In all our tests, the firewall held strong against all threats it encountered.
The suite also includes an antivirus scanner, a cookie cleaner, ad and pop-up blockers and new antispwyare tools. Happily, the app offers both real-time protection against malware as well as a scanning engine. In our tests, spyware scans were blisteringly fast and almost always accurate, though some minor traces were left behind. The real-time module could have offered more information from directly within the program on potential threats.
Other features include Web site-specific protections, an ID Lock for personal information and a configurable site-blocking content filter. Security Suite also incorporates the company's IMSecurity program, which protects instant-messaging programs from spam and encrypts messages (so long as the person on the other end also is using IMSecurity). Users looking for one solution to almost all their Internet-security concerns can turn to ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite.

Version: ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 7.0
Pros: Zonealarm improved in every area of it's suite. The antivirus uses Kaspersky's engine for scanning and removal and Kaspersky has a solid detection rate of 99%.Antispyware is powerful because it was able to block many spyware installations and spy sites before they can reach your system. The firewall is the best, blocks hacker and intrusions and the new auto learn feature makes it easy to use and less obtrusive. Good antispam, keeps Spam out of inbox. It also provides identity protection service. So far this year only Norton and Zonealarm provide the best Internet security.
Cons: Sometimes it can leave your pc unstable and can also crash your system. It does use a lot of ram.

Version: ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 7.0
Pros: Very good firewall and anti-spyware.
Cons: Antivirus worked 3 minutes before it found first file to scan. Rather try ZA pro with another antivus. (Crashes with Avast)

"Best Security Suite Available"
Pros: ZoneAlarm has always blown Norton and McAfee right out of the water in terms of features. It has a really nice firewall that not only guards your network, but blocks malicious programs and protects the kernel. It also has integrated antivirus/anti-spyware, spam filtering, and privacy protection. The privacy protection has a pop-up/ad blocker, malicious script blocker, and myVAULT, which protects your private info. It installed without a hitch, and is easy enough for anyone to use.
Cons: ZoneAlarm has too many firewall/program control alerts, and the privacy advisor gets extremely annoying, but all of these can be turned off. Also, it would be nice if it ran on Vista. But, overall, this security suite is the best out there.

Version: ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 7.0
"I like it !!but i have a few requests for the next eddition!"
Pros: i like the firewall i feel that it tops norton 360 and pc tools. it has a great process gurad the i feel it is better and more alert than spyware dr5. Updating is easy which is always good. It comes with anti-spy+virus which i feel also top Norton's best efforts. It also shows incoming and outgoing traffic in a neat little icon in the system tray. It has a great cookie+add blocking built in and the best part:
It dosnt suck your ram away! Norton+spyware dr drain your ram and reduce startup time this does NOT!
Cons: I have found that although it has IM security that works btw it doesn't alliance with msn messenger live. Messenger kept signing me in and out and when i terned this feature of ZONEALARM it stopped. Its interface is not as great as some other products and im not totally convinced about the whole "trusted zone" ***** it has goin on i think they should cut out that cra* in the next eddition.

"Vista crashed my computer - twice!"
Pros: I have used Zone Alarm FREE, Pro and most recently the Suite. I have always been satisfied with it until I upgraded to Vista
Cons: While installing ZA Suite I got many error messages, but worse when I tried to uninstall it, it was impossible and my attempts to handle it manually ended up requiring me to reinstall my operating system!
Thinking this was a fluke, I checked their website..yes it was now Vista compatible, so I tried again. Same result! Same reformat/reinstall issue. Hours wasted.
But the sour grape on top of this bitter pie is that I contacted Zone Labs and they never even acknowledged my message. I checked the internet and found that I was not alone with this problem.
So, forewarned is forarmed.
