CNET Editors' review
Along with its effective and easy-to-use firewall and additional security features, this new version of ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite revamps the mostly solid antispyware protection introduced in the last release.
ZoneAlarm's wizard makes firewall configuration and maintanence incredibly easy, with a stylish interface and simple slider controls. The app boasts an ultrasecure triple-layer firewall and experts will appreciate the customizing options. The Zones feature allows you to assign different security levels for local networks and the Internet. The program was very good at automatically including our local network settings and auto-detected wireless machines. In all our tests, the firewall held strong against all threats it encountered.
The suite also includes an antivirus scanner, a cookie cleaner, ad and pop-up blockers and new antispwyare tools. Happily, the app offers both real-time protection against malware as well as a scanning engine. In our tests, spyware scans were blisteringly fast and almost always accurate, though some minor traces were left behind. The real-time module could have offered more information from directly within the program on potential threats.
Other features include Web site-specific protections, an ID Lock for personal information and a configurable site-blocking content filter. Security Suite also incorporates the company's IMSecurity program, which protects instant-messaging programs from spam and encrypts messages (so long as the person on the other end also is using IMSecurity). Users looking for one solution to almost all their Internet-security concerns can turn to ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite.

"Zone Alarm:great firewall"
Version: ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 7.0
Pros
Zone Alarm must keep out "bad guys" well because they aren't getting in & other security software in my system don't have to work too hard.
Cons
Buyer beware: The Pro Version is NOT a purchase of software. You are getting a 1 YEAR SUBSCRIPTION and a lot of pestering to RENEW after the year is up.

"The Best I've Used"
Version: ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 7.0
Pros
After using ZoneAlarm's freeware firewall for about four years I decided to move to Internet Security Suite after using a major competitor's anti-virus solution for over 10 years. After running my first scan with ZoneAlarm's ISS's Anti-virus, I became very concerned as it worked through two large harddrives and identified 83 "viruses". I had just ran the competitor's Anti-virus that gave its standard report of four viruses from sources I knew were false positive. After examining ISS's Anti-Virus report I discovered that all 83 targets were labeled "not-a-virus" and either "at risk tools" or "adware". I am extremely pleased with ISS. It is more sensitive (identifies adware embedded in exes) and more accurate (it didn't identify the four files the other program falsely tagged as viruses. I highly recommend the ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite.
Cons
It seemed a bit slower than my previous anti-virus scanner, but that might be the tradeoff for higher sensitivity & greater accuracy.

"Vista crashed my computer - twice!"
Version: ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 7.0
Pros
I have used Zone Alarm FREE, Pro and most recently the Suite. I have always been satisfied with it until I upgraded to Vista
Cons
While installing ZA Suite I got many error messages, but worse when I tried to uninstall it, it was impossible and my attempts to handle it manually ended up requiring me to reinstall my operating system!
Thinking this was a fluke, I checked their website..yes it was now Vista compatible, so I tried again. Same result! Same reformat/reinstall issue. Hours wasted.
But the sour grape on top of this bitter pie is that I contacted Zone Labs and they never even acknowledged my message. I checked the internet and found that I was not alone with this problem.
So, forewarned is forarmed.

"I have good news for "Vista" users!"
Version: ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 7.0
Pros
The new "Vista" ready version is 7.1 and it has been released. It's the bomb too. So, this review is on version 7.1. New features in the firewall stop it's nagging during a new auto learn time which, for me lasted 9 days. By then, it pretty much knew my needs. It still has the "Kapersky" anti virus engine. It's lighter on recourses and improved scan times. Superior detection and removal in both the anti virus and anti spyware modules. I now have only one other security app installed and it's "Counter Spy". These two apps together make a great combo. The suite, unlike "Norton", McAfee" and most others has no compatibility issues with other security apps and I bought it dirt cheap thru "Trial Pay". So far, I am very happy and impressed with this suite. With this release "Zone Alarm" is back and on their "A Game". This has been a long time coming and great work by "Zone Labs". I recommend it highly!
Cons
Unfortunately, you have to download it directly from "Zone Labs". As usual, download.com is late! One con on the suite: The spam blocker is only compatible with "Outlook". By the way, The "Zone Alarm" free firewall and "Zone Alarm" with anti virus are also available in version 7.1.

"I like it !!but i have a few requests for the next eddition!"
Version: ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 7.0
Pros
i like the firewall i feel that it tops norton 360 and pc tools. it has a great process gurad the i feel it is better and more alert than spyware dr5. Updating is easy which is always good. It comes with anti-spy+virus which i feel also top Norton's best efforts. It also shows incoming and outgoing traffic in a neat little icon in the system tray. It has a great cookie+add blocking built in and the best part:
It dosnt suck your ram away! Norton+spyware dr drain your ram and reduce startup time this does NOT!
Cons
I have found that although it has IM security that works btw it doesn't alliance with msn messenger live. Messenger kept signing me in and out and when i terned this feature of ZONEALARM it stopped. Its interface is not as great as some other products and im not totally convinced about the whole "trusted zone" ***** it has goin on i think they should cut out that cra* in the next eddition.

"Best Security Suite Available"
Version: ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 7.0
Pros
ZoneAlarm has always blown Norton and McAfee right out of the water in terms of features. It has a really nice firewall that not only guards your network, but blocks malicious programs and protects the kernel. It also has integrated antivirus/anti-spyware, spam filtering, and privacy protection. The privacy protection has a pop-up/ad blocker, malicious script blocker, and myVAULT, which protects your private info. It installed without a hitch, and is easy enough for anyone to use.
Cons
ZoneAlarm has too many firewall/program control alerts, and the privacy advisor gets extremely annoying, but all of these can be turned off. Also, it would be nice if it ran on Vista. But, overall, this security suite is the best out there.

"Works, but doesn't get along well with Windows Security Advisor..."
Version: ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 7.0
Pros
For the pro's. The program doesn't seem to absorb resources. It doesn't annoy me with a ton of alerts. I like the overall feel of the program and it seems to catch a lot of things my other software didn't. (Norton & F-Secure). I like the idea of a one stop shop for security too.
Cons
On the other hand, the program seems to be a bit screwy. On one machine Windows Security Center reports no firewall and no anti-virus are installed even though ZA shows to be functioning & up to date. On another machine Windows Security Center always shows my anti-virus to be out of date even though ZA shows to be up to date. Tech support is not good. I was able to contact a human via email and got one suggestion on how to correct the problem, but the on-line help is horrible. Want to call, have your credit card ready.
