A newer version of YPOPs is available.
(Download doesn't provide access to previous versions of this program.)
Publisher's description
(From Anuj Seth ):YPOPs! is an application that provides POP3 access to Yahoo! Mail. It is available o n the Windows, Linux, Solaris and Mac platforms.
Yahoo! Mail disabled free access to its POP3 service o n 24th April, 2002. This application emulates a POP3 server and enables popular email clients like Outlook, Netscape, Eudora, Mozilla, etc., to download email from Yahoo! accounts. We do not go against the license agreements of Yahoo! Mail. This application is completely legitimate and well within the realms of legal software.
How do we do it you ask? Well, this application is more like a gateway. It provides a POP3 server interface at o ne end to talk to email clients and an HTTP client (browser) interface at the other which allows it to talk to Yahoo!

Version: YPOPs 0.8.3
"Get your Yahoo Mail without visiting Yahoo webmail!"
Pros: Its free.
Its open-source.
It lets you get your Yahoo mail in any mail client in the world...I use it with Outlook Express.
It has no interface. It just shows a progress bar similar to that of Outlook Express'.
Gives you options to leave a copy of the mail on the server or to delete it off the server.
Cons: Requires significantly more setup that your generic ISP-based e-mail accounts.
It requires a little bit of time to login to your Yahoo account to download the mail.

"Well If This Just Isn't The HOOT!!!"
Pros: The dang thing works!!! It has no spyware, add's or popup's. It is veryyyyy easy to configure for use with multiple Yahoo accounts and it removes the hassel of having to log out of one Yahoo account and into another. NOTE...whatever you use...Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape...etc...IT DOES REMOVE THE MAIL FROM THE YAHOO SERVER. If you are ok with that...go for it and enjoy. If you need to be able to access your Yahoo mail from anywhere you are you might not like this program becaues as we said...it does remove it from the Yahoo server. The only work around we see is you will need to use your Yahoo folders and move the mail you want access to from anywhere into those folders.

"YPOPS is BRILL. makes outlook express usable."
Pros: It's simple to use because once you have installed it you forget about it. Very small download. It even leaves a copy of the emails on the server so you have a back up copy of every email you receive, contary to what some users say.
Cons: The instructions that I got didn't make mention of the fact that it would delete all emails off the server. Anyone wanting to use this YPOPs must obtain instructions for both the freemail and the pay version and read the section on leaving copies on server. Do that and everything will be fine. Also it takes a few days for it to learn to load every time you switch on your PC.

"Just What the Doctor Ordered"
Pros: Does exactly what it promises, you can check your Yahoo mail account from Outlook Express or Thunderbird (and more). Pretty easy to set up. No problems since. Free is good too.
