Version: Xilisoft Video Converter 3.1.19.1218b
"The encoding quality is horrible."
Pros: It works. It's fast (but not quality wise).
Cons: I tried the DivX and MPEG-4 encoding features up to 2500KB bitrate, the result videos quality are horrible. A bitrate of 1500 alone should be able to produce a quite decent output but not with this software.
If you are looking for encoding quality you might want to avoid this one.

"BAD APP: Produces unusable 3GP video conversions"
Pros: Seemingly easy-to-use user interface.
Cons: Interface provides absolutely no control over the 3GP conversion process as seen with similar apps. Video size is fixed size (I'd like 320x240 to support my MotoQ), there's no control over cropping or aspect ratio to compensate for original source which may be letterboxed, there's no control whatsoever. Unacceptable!
Worse is that the resulting 3GP video is totally unusable. There is video, there is audio, but both are horrendous quality. Video is so pixelated it's unwatchable. Audio is totally ruined and doesn't even sound like people talking. It's just some digitized garbled noise.

"Perhaps not for the expert, but for me V. Good!"
Pros: It did exactly what I wanted. It converted Quicktime .MOV to .AVI and .WMV with ease. One user's review takes issue with failings that I've yet to experience as I've yet to make similar demands of this software but for what I want (and I deem this to be an average level of need of an averagely knowledgable IT chap) it does the job sweetly. Lovely Graphical User Interface, no problems with installation and utilisation, it made me a happy guy. Thank you! Download it and see if it does the business (its trial version limits are five minutes of encoding only) and then make that purchase! (Perhaps I culd get a job on their sales team?!)
Cons: Yet to experience any.....

Pros: Um..It was quick and easy to install? ;)
Cons: I tried to convert an RM movie file to another format and it couldn't do it. I tried converting it to MPG, FLV, WMV, and MOV. In each attempt, the conversion either aborted with a "failed" error message (with no explanation) or resulted in a sound only file, no picture at all. And the source file was just over a minute long, well under the 5 minute length limit of the trial version of the program. I guess you could say I'm not impressed.
