Key feature of this software is truly its simplicity. Toy interface symbolizes that even a child can deal with that. Important is also that every once in a while they release a new version featuring new possibilities. Functionality itself is great.
Cons
Knowing the principle of work of this software (like the fact launcher file launches both server and visual parts) is essential for you to use some of the merely sophisticated features. Perhaps the logic is that non-tech-savvy users won't need the features, and those with tech background will have no difficulties in understanding it?

as tested on mac64 10.8.2 - high quality performance, good set of features, intuitive navigation, free test mode.

- Works as advertised
- Relative ease of setup, although they use a weird home-brew interface style.Cons
- Running the server installs (without asking) the Xeoma core service. You can't end the Xeoma process without first going to Services and stopping/disabling this service first. Hidden service installs like this, without information and with no easy way to stop the service, is a big no-no.

Trial version will continuously record for 5 hours in a row. But to me that's ok, it has most tolerant pricing policy - $5 is enough to switch to the unlimited edition and theirs always freee edition you can switch to

I've got Win 7 x64 and there's a PLENTY of software that I can use. However Xeoma is far better than any of them as it DOES what I WANT IT TO DO, believe me it's a rare quality. I control it without the need to adjust myself and goals to what the system can do. Perhaps because Xeoma can do it all

I heard this was a start-up so they didn't really had text documentation I am so used to. It's not bad however since the software has embedded tips, help, support, educational videos, you name it. I'm just used to standard manuals, a little TOO MUCH maybe

+ up-to-date design
+ motion detection logic is quite good. adjustable, handles changes in weather in light just fine
+ various alerts
+ no troubles in setting up cams (tested on my IP cam)
+ remote access which was the most important for me
+ separate licensing for each PCCons
- I don't know really, maybe licensing stuff may seem complicated in the way it is not automated completely which is fine with me but may not be so with more sensitive users
Summary
as I stated above to me it's the best quality-cost-ratio. Many possibilities, flexible control, remote access, detection and reactions. 5 star rating.
