XRay is a flexible and powerful "Get Info" program for Mac OS X (10.1 and up). Access via the Finder's contextual menu, drag&drop or the Services menu. Will accept third-party plugins for feature expansion.
Features:

View/change Type, Creator and Extension metadata and have immediate feedback on how they affect file-to-application binding

Type, Creator and Extension lists are loaded from the system's own databases, so you don't need to build or maintain anything

Change permissions for all items in folders

View/change common and obscure BSD permissions

View folder sizes

View/follow/change/make aliases and symbolic links

See format and interface for volumes

See detailed application or file type

Uses Administrator authorization if necessary

Generate reports

Move files to the Trash and empty it with privileges
