You can find the current registered name and organization in the about box of Explorer or in the properties of My Computer. This program just changes the registered name and organization on your computer. It does not contact Microsoft in any way.

This one-trick pony lets you change your Windows registered name and company. XP Registered Name Changer has a plain, yet easily comprehensible, interface with boxes for you to quickly input a new registered name and company for your OS. You can view the current name and company with one click. Although the company name isn't required, the registered name must be input. Changes were made nearly instantly and did not require a reboot. While we certainly don't advocate making unauthorized changes to licensed software registration, any user who needs to adjust errors in their Windows registration will find this freebie handy and quick.

  "Works Perfectly!"

  Pros: I downloaded and installed this little program. It retrived the original name of this PC and I was able to easily change both the registered name and company name. Works great and exactly as described!

  Cons: No "cons" what so ever. Works exactly as described.
