Publisher's Description
From Best Security Tips:
XP Firewall Commander is an easy to use control interface for your Windows XP built-in firewall which lets you add and remove exceptions for programs and services so that they can receive inbound traffic. If you use no exceptions, you can still view Web pages, send and receive e-mail messages, or use an instant messaging program. XP Firewall Commander permits you to add a specific port and protocol (UDP or TCP) and a suitable port name.

"I don't use Windows XP Firewall."
Version: XP Firewall Commander 3.5
Cons
But people who depend on Windows XP Firewall. You can click start click network connections and you have access to Windows XP Firewall. Next click change Windows Firewall settings, click exceptions and uncheck programs that you don't want the firewall to have an exception to and click ok.

"click ok over and over and, well you get the idea"
Version: XP Firewall Commander 3.1
Pros
Installs very easy
Cons
set-up of the program is terrible if you have any downloaders active. Make sure to shut everything off b-4 you set-up/settings for this program. Personally I don't like it at all.

"basic tool for a basic firewall"
Version: XP Firewall Commander 2.3
Pros
nice interface
free
Cons
not much happening behind the scenes - just a different window into the XP firewall. No help screens or documentation - no advice on "demystifying" the XP firewall. No right-click options. "View traffic" is apparently based on the XP firewall log - does not remove connections once they've been closed. Loaded 2 instances into my system tray.
