I was looking for a program to convert my mkv videos to m4v for use on my ipad without transcoding. This program does it so well in a few minutes you have an m4v file with subtitles without loss of quality. Great product

This software performs extremely well all the functions of cutting and re-encoding of video files.
Easy to istall, this program requires a little application to understand how it works, but performs just as well the audio and video in perfect sync

Supports an impressive number of formats.
Also the speed of execution is very good (on my laptop window 7).

Incredible array of parameters for tuning.
Output quality is often equal to input with a fraction of the input file size.
VOLUME CORRECTION! A huge factor in my decision to switch because I download thousands of music videos.
It's similar to Super but superior in every way but one...Cons

Super can do a 1.5gb conversion in 20 minutes. Xmedia takes 10-12 hours.Summary
I just recoded a 1.2gb movie to 674 without a loss of quality. I have used EVERY encoder out there over the years. For quality encodings that will be saved in my collection, I use XMedia Recode and nothing else.
I have converted music videos and ended up with a conversion that is 1/8 the input size and in countless freeze frame comparisons, every bit it's equal.
Only 4 stars because it is so slow but in terms of output quality, 100 stars! -

Easy to istall, this program requires a little application to understand how it works, but performs just as well the audio and video in perfect sync.
There is also a portable version of this program you can download from the manufacturer site but is written in German). However, during an automatic update of the program, I myself have been directed toward the site where I could download both the update of the program, that the portable version. -

Nice interface. Lots of formats available. Can select CPU priority during conversion. Can preview/play file prior to converting. No problems encountered converting FLV to MP4, FLV to AVI, FLV to WMV, or FLV to Mpeg 2.
Cons
Checking out Help and found no local help file. Help is web based and in German. EULA at installation is also in German.
