Version: XMPlay 3.3.0.4
"My favorite player for many years"
Pros: I really love this player. It's very lightweight on resources, never stumbles while playing, has wide selection of codecs for different formats, requires no installation - just unzip and play. Not many, but very nice, functional skins are available. Can be used from flash drive. Different sound tweaking settings available. Works flawlessly in Vista.
Cons: No negatives.

"The best small, and light music player I found."
Pros: This player is very light on memory, and processor usage. It rocks especially with plugins, and skins. There is a plugins that allow you to play music from within ZIP, RAR archives, and much more. I thought of this being a good feature for common use, but the makers of XMPlay thought of this too, and I was impressed. Plugins for MIDI sound, etc. The skins change the player's look dramatically making it look fresh with each skin you apply.
Cons: None.

Version: XMPlay 3.3.0.4
Pros: No install required, small memory footprint, very simple and fast media player. Great playback. Has all the basic features that I need. I'm now using this as my default player for all my audio files. Shame it doesn't play video too! Plugins are available for a few extra formats such as MIDI. Also with a simple plugin it works with Windows Live / MSN Messenger's What I'm Listening to feature.
Have not experimented with the library feature since I don't use them, but it does appear to have one - can't comment on how good it is though. Same goes for the equalizer. Playlist feature is great, very simple & easy to make a playlist - pls format compatible.
This program is well worth a try! If you don't like it you can delete it, as there's no install required. Fantastic.
Cons: Some of the alternative skins seem to make some features inaccessible? Default skin is perfect though and has easy access to all features - and even has a slider for showing/hiding the attached playlist & equalizer boxes which is pretty neat.

Pros: Uses few system resources; clean, simple display; free.
Cons: Finding some of the controls isn't as easy as with some other players. There's a learning curve.
