From X1 Technologies :X1 Search instantly finds any content in any e-mail, file, or attachment on your hard drive. As you type search terms, X1 lists the sources, highlights the terms, and displays the files in any of 255 formats. You see the contents in their original layouts, not as plain text, so documents in Word, WordPerfect, Acrobat, Excel, Photoshop, Visio, and PowerPoint as well as hundreds of other file types all look the way they're supposed to, even if you don't have the application installed. If you have the application, simply double-click to open a file. For e-mail, X1 supports Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, and Netscape Mail, and can search your archived PSTs. Multiple parameters let you refine searches, and user-controlled options let you manage background tasks.
