CNET Editors' review
If you didn't get a chance to check out the original X-Men Legends, now's your chance to try it with better graphics and different superpowers. The sequel to the action RPG doesn't tinker with a successful formula. You control four mutants at a time in battles with Apocalypse's minions, earning experience and collecting items along the way. The demo offers a great introduction to the gameplay and story line. It's too bad the included mission isn't long enough to get a better impression.
The demo includes a cinematic cutscene, a breezy tutorial level, and one short mission in which you save the mutant Blink from the Dead Zone. You control one character directly--your "hero"--and three other party members with adjustable AI follow along. In the new story, the X-Men and Magneto's army join forces to fight the supermutant Apocalypse, who threatens both groups' survival. The default mutants are Magneto, Cyclops, Wolverine, and Storm, and Bishop and Juggernaut can be substituted into the mission to save Blink. The game plays much like most action RPGs, with lots of fighting, box smashing, item grabbing, and character leveling. The Dead Zone mission can be played on three difficulties, but all can be finished so quickly that many gamers may feel a bit cheated by the 336MB download.

"Nice comic game"
Version: X-Men Legends II: Rise of the Apocalypse demo
Pros
The game is quite solid and the characters are quite true in terms of their powers, abilities and essense in the comic.
The gameplay is decent however the fighting is too quick and doesnt seem to depend to much on player interactive, in my opinion.
Cons
The camera controls are diffucult and it isnt always possible to see and turn easily towards where the enemies are from.

"awesome graphics"
Version: X-Men Legends II: Rise of the Apocalypse demo
Pros
great involving gameplay, stunning graphics
Cons
demo doesn't give you time to really see what the game can do ( I literally completed the demo in less than 6 minutes, which considering the download takes approx an hour with a 1MB broadband connection kind of sucks ) Movement is a bit erratic as you seem to keep running into your comrades who don't always move out of the way

"Could have been moved to pc better."
Version: X-Men Legends II: Rise of the Apocalypse demo
Pros
This is a fun game. Once you get in the gameplay is very good and the whole switching characters and leveling up makes it very interesting.
Cons
I've played this on gamecube and it worked a lot better there. The install messed up once and the uninstall was pretty slow. Also while playing it stopped responding and when you end it it leaves some directx settings changed that messed up another game.

"Very Enveloping"
Version: X-Men Legends II: Rise of the Apocalypse demo
Pros
I loved the feeling of actually being drawn into the game, being compelled to play all the way through the demo (which happens so rarely with any game I ever play). The characters have humorous, witty remarks, adding personality to them, with their voice overs being done pretty well I think. The games controls are a tad unusual, but still pretty intuitive and easy to pick up on. Ingame action is similar to Dungeon Siege, in that theres an overview from an angle. All in all though, I really did enjoy the demo, and am seriously considering getting the full version.
Cons
It was too short lol, it ended just as I was really beginning to get into the game.
