Although this application does include an extensive set of vocabulary for test takers, the program could offer a more creative way of learning words. WordHacker primarily teaches word definition and pronunciation.
The program's best attribute is that its word lists are drawn from standardized tests, such as the TOEFL, GRE, GMAT and the SAT. Though this is helpful for students prepping for such tests, the program does boast the ability to add more lists, yet only two lists (that aren't in English) are included. Along with definitions, WordHacker includes picture descriptions of words through an Internet image-search function, which essentially allows you to search for the best illustration yourself.
We were most disappointed by how the program was set up, as there are no exercises or tests; the program simply reads off its list of words and follows each with its definition. Overall, WordHacker is a good program for vocabulary but not the most exciting learning tool.

Version: WordHacker Golden Edition 4.19
"Could be better, but it's decent."
Pros: There is a lot added to the software for good studying, especially the *real* pronunciation feature. Some software offer computerized pronunciations which sometimes aren't reliable. Though m-w.com's pronunciation is free and good (and real), it takes a really long time to load fluently (ads and stuff); but that's what wordhacker offers, especially for really large lists of words to learn. You can't keep waiting 5 seconds for each pronunciations. (though m-w.com is a great company).
Plus, the image search feature is a great plus and the examples are great.
Tech support is actually existing and prompt. They'll help you out.
Make sure you try it out and have some faith in the unexplored potential.
Cons: Again, could be better, for there's lots of potential in an innovative software.
