Even after you delete a file, that data is still on your hard drive and can easily be viewed. With Wiperaser 2004, you can securely delete data with no chance of its retrieval. The program gives you a broad choice of the level of security, utilizing the Gutmann, DoD (Department of Defense)5220.22-M, and random-blocks methods. The simple interface makes setting up custom tasks quick and easy, with almost no learning curve. We like the option to remove specified folders, files, and registry keys in a single sweep. You also can securely wipe any free disk space you might have on your machine. The program can take a while to finish, depending on which method you use. The more security you're looking for, the longer you'll have to wait. Overall, Wiperaser 2004 is easy to use and accomplishes its tasks thoroughly. We recommend it to anyone looking for an extra level of security when working with confidential documents or for anyone who simply want to make sure his or her Internet browsing history stays private.Publisher's description
From Liveye :Wiperaser 2004 is a secure data-deletion tool. Its primary goal is to wipe files, folders, and registry entries in such a way that nobody can recover them. It works on FAT, FAT32, NTFS, and NTFS5 volumes and supports three data-wiping methods: the well-known Gutmann method, the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) 5220.22-M method, and the random-blocks method. It seamlessly integrates into your Windows shell through a handy context-menu item.
Version 6.1 features the secure cleaning of free disk space and the secure wiping of entire disks, as well as the wiping of the entire disk performed using low-level direct-disk access to directly rewrite clusters (no lock on files will prevent this kind of erasure).
