This suite of system analysis and repair tools pairs strong functionality with simple operation. Windows Doctor's clean, professional interface offers flexibility for expert users without overwhelming inexperienced users with options. The user manual is short, to the point, and actually helpful.

Operating Windows Doctor can be a mere matter of pressing a few buttons. Five tabs split the suite into System Security, Registry Cleanup, Privacy Cleanup, System Speed-Up, and Advanced Tools. The first four tabs require only that users press the Scan and Repair buttons. Expert users can choose to narrow or widen scans with a series of option check boxes, but the default settings will work for most. There are many similar applications, but testers reported that this app hit the most important scans and performed them with decent speed.

System Security scans for critical updates not installed, untrusted start-up items, problem plug-ins, services, and processes. Critical updates are generously explained, but only basic information was given for everything else. The Registry and Privacy cleanup functions follow the same areas used in most cleanup tools. The System Speedup function performs a quick analysis, but fails to inform users what is changed to speed up the system. The program helpfully includes single-click options to restore System Security, Registry Cleanup, and System Speedup changes.

Windows Doctor's Advanced Tools perform good analysis and allow for easy changes to services, processes, BHOs, and start-up programs. The demo limits cleaning many of the problems, but repairs enough to prove this program's worth. Any user looking for a full system analysis and cleanup suite should give Windows Doctor a test run.
