This program for recovering deleted files comes in near the top of its class in almost every area except download restrictions. WinUndelete boasts a welcoming interface with buttons for all necessary actions prominently displayed--and since the program greets you with a step-by-step wizard, you may never need the tutorial or help info. The list of supported file types is extensive, and we really appreciated the program's ability to ignore temporary Internet files and junk files, which saves both time and effort. You can search for deleted documents by extension or filename, as well as sort the list of results. In our tests, scans were both accurate and speedy, though the trial version won't actually let you recover a deleted file, a limitation that seems excessive. Nevertheless, WinUndelete is a smart safeguard against accidental file erasure.Publisher's description

It recovers deleted files even after the Recycle Bin has been emptied, those deleted accidentally from a network share, those deleted from the DOS command prompt, and those lost or deleted by other programs or viruses.

"DO NOT CREATE RECOVERY FILES!"
Pros: It scans quickly
Cons: The trial version of the software does not actually undelete your files - it tells you to save the files off into a special recovery file so that you have a safe copy of them in case you buy the software.
There is, however, a catch. When you save your files to a backup file, WinUndelete permanently deletes the files from your hard drive, leaving you to have to register in order to get your files back.
Let me make this clear - AFTER YOU RUN WINUNDELETE AND SAVE TO A RECOVERY FILE, NEITHER WINUNDELETE NOR ANY OTHER SOFTWARE CAN GET YOUR FILES BACK UNLESS YOU PAY THE $50 RANSOM!

Pros: I like nothing!
Cons: The Demo claimed to find my file, and assured me it was completely recoverable. After buying the license the program then said it could not be recovered... cost me time, money and aggravation. Customer service is a non issue with them!
