Don't let the hit-or-miss nature of the installation documentation throw you. Even if you have to update components on your machine, you're only moments away from DVD-viewing satisfaction. With an easy-to-use and visually pleasing interface and a bevy of extra features, WinDVD is a demoware dream come true.
The app provides unlimited, theater-perfect playback for the duration of its two-week run on your PC. A slider control improves on the usual Forward and Back buttons, so pinpointing your favorite movie scenes is as fun as watching them in the program's crystal-clear display. Advanced viewing-time controls let you repace the action to fit your available viewing time. The program also features a handful of audio options for Dolby systems and simple headphones.
A full complement of video options includes basic adjustments such as color, contrast, and gamma, as well as advanced tools for monitor calibration. The program's massive 30MB frame also contains great capturing and handling tools for up to six frames at a time. You also can choose to have the movie play as your desktop picture. Give the supersize WinDVD enough CPU room to run and enjoy unfettered viewing pleasure.

"Not Very Good, But It's Necessary"
Pros: I am very disappointed how this program was installed, and it was the only DVD codec I had, so when I uninstalled it, I couldn't play DVDs anymore. Honestly this player is very nice looking but is not worth the potential. I just need it for playing DVDs, sadly.

Version: WinDVD 8
Pros: good looking interface, sounds good and picture looks great, but only for a while and then it starts tripping.
Cons: This thing is just simply too BUGGY. Excellent when it works but unfortunately it doesn't last for long. A Great DISSAPOINTMENT. Get PowerDVD.

Version: WinDVD 8
Pros: Even though it does not cost all that much, I just can't afford it just yet... But it performed well and I liked it. When I can get the registered version, I can copy my DVDs to save the originals from getting damaged. That will give the originals a long life.
