Don't let the hit-or-miss nature of the installation documentation throw you. Even if you have to update components on your machine, you're only moments away from DVD-viewing satisfaction. With an easy-to-use and visually pleasing interface and a bevy of extra features, WinDVD is a demoware dream come true.
The app provides unlimited, theater-perfect playback for the duration of its two-week run on your PC. A slider control improves on the usual Forward and Back buttons, so pinpointing your favorite movie scenes is as fun as watching them in the program's crystal-clear display. Advanced viewing-time controls let you repace the action to fit your available viewing time. The program also features a handful of audio options for Dolby systems and simple headphones.
A full complement of video options includes basic adjustments such as color, contrast, and gamma, as well as advanced tools for monitor calibration. The program's massive 30MB frame also contains great capturing and handling tools for up to six frames at a time. You also can choose to have the movie play as your desktop picture. Give the supersize WinDVD enough CPU room to run and enjoy unfettered viewing pleasure.

Version: WinDVD 7.0-B27.130
Pros: This is one of the best DVD players I have downloaded and trialed. Great features including parental controls, image capture, auto resume playback, karaoke and that's only the beginning! This supports XP, 2000, 98 and ME.
Cons: Could use a bit more support though you should easily get the hang of it. Dosen't support DirectX, MP3, DVD-VCD or DVD-VOB. Audio and Video quality aren't as better than the others but it's highly acceptable. Also, the price is a bit too high considering it is missing a few things the others have. If it wants to stay with the competition with pricing, it better low that $ soon ;) Worth a download.

Version: WinDVD 7.0-B27.130
Pros: The only player that comes close to this would be PowerDVD. Plenty of options to tweak the image quality. Very sleek interface. Controls make the program and videos easy to navigate. Worth the money.
Cons: The mouse cursor doesnt fade out like on most players. I find myself hiding it in the bottom of the monitor. This possibly could be a problem on my end with my modified mouse drivers.
