Don't let the hit-or-miss nature of the installation documentation throw you. Even if you have to update components on your machine, you're only moments away from DVD-viewing satisfaction. With an easy-to-use and visually pleasing interface and a bevy of extra features, WinDVD is a demoware dream come true.
The app provides unlimited, theater-perfect playback for the duration of its two-week run on your PC. A slider control improves on the usual Forward and Back buttons, so pinpointing your favorite movie scenes is as fun as watching them in the program's crystal-clear display. Advanced viewing-time controls let you repace the action to fit your available viewing time. The program also features a handful of audio options for Dolby systems and simple headphones.
A full complement of video options includes basic adjustments such as color, contrast, and gamma, as well as advanced tools for monitor calibration. The program's massive 30MB frame also contains great capturing and handling tools for up to six frames at a time. You also can choose to have the movie play as your desktop picture. Version: WinDVD 7.0
Pros: I have tried the 5 and 6 version but all were too heavy. I couldnt run them with software acceleartion. Plus they both took much time to start. And the player skin was not the best.
I don't know what they did with this but the GUI is awesome, I can play with software acceleration with DTS and having abc bittorrent running at the same time. I now prefer this better than my Sonic cineplayer as they have stopped updating it.
Cons: can't seem to find some functions...

Version: WinDVD 7.0
Pros: I have used WinDVD since version 4, and this one is more of an improvment then 5 and 6, and it is quite amazing. The GUI is very attractive, and the audio and video capabilities are incredible, if any computer wants good media, a THX certified speaker system and sound card will do you good.
Cons: I can't honestly say there is anything I dislike about this product.

"Undoubtedly the best movie app around!"
Pros: Same great features as WinDVD 6. New streamlined interface. Support for various formats. Supports newer video and audio formats that aren't mainstream yet, but are becoming popular fast. The InterActual player is pretty fun with DVD features. The audio and video enhancement options are truly amazing. You can easily see the difference when you play a movie, not even a DVD, side by side with playing it on WMP.
Cons: None that I found yet.

Version: WinDVD 7.0
"Worst customer service/customer communications in the industry"
Cons: This company does not accept communications from the public unless you have made a purchase and then only for the first ninety days. The system of communicating a problem, I have one (the reverse play and slow motion stick or jerk at some speeds), is hopelessly complicated and slow.
But worse, to pursue the issue further you must use the box provided in there e-mail and my experience is that after the "thank you" acknowledgement, the message sticks and does not go because InterVideo is behind a proxy to which in 2 days I have been unable to connect.
