  "didnt work"

  Pros: It Downloaded!

  Cons: I have 6 AVI files on my desktop which I play through VideoLan.I tried to convert the 6 files with WinAVI and I got the same error, "Cant decode this file,maybe the file is broken or system not install the decoder" Bit of a waste of time if you ask me, Another for the uninstall!

  "easy to use, but"

  Pros: This was easy to use to convert between several different formats. Seemed fine as long as you were keeping the format for PC use....

  Cons: when going to a DVD format, I could not seem to do it without a noticible loss of quality...

  "best in his category"

  Pros: fast convertin' quite all tipes of video (till 2x), rarely fails , simple to use & has nice futuristic interface (blue/silver)

  Cons: i would write that it's a RAM hog...but there are no video conveter that are not ! Anyway it could run well even on a 256 RAM system...much better from 512 on

  "seems to convert most formats nicely"

  Pros: this app seems to convert both Real Media and Window Media Player files nicely to mpeg1, with nice video and audio. However, mpeg2 conversion seemed to lack the video component.

  Cons: mpeg2 conversion of video probably needs attention

  Version: WinAVI Video Converter 6.3

  "INCREDIBLE and VERY User-Friendly!"

  Pros: This video converter, as the song goes, is "Simply THE BEST! Better than All The Rest!". The GUI is the simplest and easiest thing in the world to use. It's conversion time is EXTREMELY FAST. And it's encoding options are as diverse as you need them to be. This is the only product you'll need if you want to convert different video formats or to make DVD videos.

  Cons: Just stick with version 6.3 for the time being. The 7.1 version is FULL OF BUGS! It crashes alot and DOES NOT encode the entire DVD properly!
