As simple and fast as an electric can opener, WinASO Registry Optimizer offers a hassle-free system tuneup. It finds errors related to your Registry, custom controls, shortcuts, drivers, fonts, shared programs, and configuration files. We were pleased to find you can sort its search results--a useful feature when dealing with long lists. Before deleting found entries, the program suggests backing them up in case something goes wrong.
It also provides a simple tool for cleaning traces left by various applications, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, and ICQ. WinASO doesn't slow system performance when scanning in the background, though the trial version will correct only 10 faulty files. You'll have to buy it to get any real benefit, but PC novices and time-pressed experts will find WinASO Registry Optimizer a good addition to their PC-maintenance regimens.

Version: WinASO Registry Optimizer 4.1
Pros: Professional lookking user interface makes you feel at ease all will show tons of items that supposedly need to be repaired that many registry cleaner supposedly miss.
Cons: It will crash a lot of software installed on your system because it is way to agressive! For example Pinnacle Studio 12, Boris Graffti, also the older versions of this software will crash Vista so beware.
Summary: Would be a much better program did not select many needed system and software items which causes a lengthy process of sifting through its findings. Bottom line - sloppy programing and way to much rush to put out a product.

Pros: Not much. No better than average, perhaps less, than other registry editors.
Cons: No reports on discoveries and removals
Summary: As Registry Editors go, this one is a loser. It removes stuff, but just assures the removals are taken care of... no reports...
I can name ten free registry editors that are better than this one that asks for 30 bucks. -

Pros: Scans the most areas for questionable registry issues. Very fast and accurate. Latest version is even better.
Cons: None that I have found.
Summary: I've used for 3 or 4 years now. Use to use Registry Mechanic, but it seemed to not fined as much stuff especially after an program uninstall. After trying WinASO I've not looked back.
