"Looks like they finally got it!"
Pros: I've owned a copy for two years but used it with caution. Yeah! I've had more misery then success with registry cleaners. I run Vista Ultimate & Windows XP Pro on separate hard drives in the same desktop & I have actually become very fond of Vista. I was having issues with XP. The computer just re-started on its own & blue screened on me once. I scanned with everything I have, no infections. I re-seated the ram boards then cleaned the registry with Tuneup Utilities 2008. It re-started by itself again. I checked for updates with WinASO & installed the new version, let it fly & it cleaned an additional 97 errors. Haven't had a problem since. The new interface is big time improved & much easier to navigate. Now all modules are easier to find & use. It hasn't been long enough to know for sure if my problems truly fixed but if it stays good, it's a five star utility.
Cons: So far, none. I'm going to update it on my Vista system to. Just use it with some common sense. I've yet, in 10 years to run into a perfect registry cleaner. The free trial is limited to cleaning 10 items at a time. It should be full.

"Works good with Registry Mechanic 7"
Pros: I use Registry Mechanic 7 along with WinASO Registry Optimizer 4.0 I DO NOT have them scan the same areas of the registry. I wanted to see which of the two found the most registry errors I did a full scan with both. Registry Mechanic 7 found more errors in certain areas than WinASO Registry Optimizer 4.0. So which ever one found the most errors in a certain area thats the one I have scan that area of the registry. You have to go through the scan options of both and put a check mark next to the area of the registry you want each to scan and make sure they dont scan the same items. WinASO Registry Optimizer scans a few more areas of the registry but I still like both programs both are worth having the paid versions on you computer.
Cons: Even though I use both Registry Mechanic 7 and WinASO Registry Optimizer 4.0 I still have to go through the registry and remove some items left behind by programs I uninstalled. If I wasnt using both Registry Mechanic and WinASO Registry Optimizer it would take alot longer to go through the registry and find these items. Another thing is after a certain period of time you want to go Registry Mechanic and WinASO Registry Optimizer install folder and delete the back ups they can get big in a short period of time.

Version: WinASO Registry Optimizer 4.0.5
Pros: It's very fast & efficient. When you use it for the first time a lot of errors will be discovered but as it's so quick this is soon sorted.
I've been using Win ASO for several years so was happy to upgrade to v 4.0
Cons: Free version will only fix 10 errors per time but I run it each day on auto & it's not a problem.
