  Version: Webroot Spy Sweeper 3.5

  "Throrough scanning, but slow performance"

  Pros: I was really impressed with Spy Sweeper's ability to find, and most importantly remove, spyware that other products couldn't seem to eradicate. The user interface is easy to grasp, and the ability to get detailed information on each piece of spyware found via Webroot's site is a nice touch.

  Cons: Spy Sweeper is slower than other scanners and takes up a lot of system resources during a full scan. I'd like the ability to run the scanner in the background but still be able to use the computer.

  "A good addition to Spybot and AdAware"

  Pros: 1st, if your a PC Noob, get the 2 best freeware spyscanners, available here on download... Spybot Search and Destry, and Ad Aware. Spysweeper has been recommended in many PC magazines. It comes with a free 30 day trial. It also protects your PC from websites that try to forcefully add new pages to your favorites without your knowledgs... this and many other protections are available in the full version. Also, look into Spyware Doctor, also here on download, with a free and a full version...You can't be too safe on the internet.

  PC Geek gives it 4.9 stars

  Cons: Doesn't find everything I'd like it too,,, but then again, no spyware scanner does. That's why you've got to get several... Be educated however, don't download any spyware scanner you come across. Do research. Ad aware, Spybot, Spyware doctor, and Spysweeper are some of the trusted names. Any other's and you could be downloading a spyware installer that you think is a scanner.

  "Not bad, but not great"

  Pros: pretty good detection engine. nice interface, but without all the features some other anti-spy products offer.

  Cons: it seems to find tons of cookies and not much else.

  "The best paid Anti Spyware now"

  Pros: Very thorough. Easy to understand and simple to use interface. Many options for comprehensive coverage. Now that Spyware Eliminator has been bought by AOL and Giant's programs have been scooped up by Microsoft this is the number one paid Anti Spyware program on the market.

  Go to a security forum like computercops (there are many on the net) before downloading any Anti Spyware products and become educated. If you don't you could be doing allot more harm to your computer than good. You would be surprised what some of these companies have done to their software after selling out.

  I trust Spy Sweeper for now.

  Cons: A complete scan uses allot of resources. If you have a high end system this is not that important.

  "Junk"

  Pros: Installed quickly with no problems

  Cons: Slowed my Windows ME system to a crawl, cursor would barely move. I received double help bubbles *of the same info* when I put the cursor next to a unchecked box, to find out what that box was used for. The entire computer froze several times and would only reboot if I manually shut it off.

  I removed this JUNK from my computer and now it works perfectly fine.
