"It Works. Google Is Still Better."
Pros: It's actually quite good as a search tool, but has too many drawbacks.
I like how you can sort results by web address.
Cons: Results don't seem to be sorted by relevance. Google typically shows you the result you are looking for within the first few results.
This would be perfect if you could also sort by relevance!!!

Version: WebFerret Free 5
"Excellent, Excellent, Excellent"
Pros: I liked Web Ferret so much that after a few years using the free version, one day I decided to pay for the Pro version, as a way to say Thank You... The Pro version is even better than the free version. However... I recently bought another search automator that is even better than Web Ferret Pro, for which reason Web Ferret Pro now loses one star. For respect to c/net I won't mention the name... but if you use Web Ferret to find the search automator I am referring to, you will probably find it.
Cons: There are no cons, especaially not for the free version. Beggars can't be choosers, and this is one of the best and most useful free software I have ever used on my computer, on a par in usefulness with Open Office.

Version: WebFerret Free 5
Pros: I can't evaluate this as it does not support my browser, which is Firefox. However I have in the past used a previous version, which was good. Pity I can't use this one.
Cons: Contrary to the erroneous previous contribution, this does NOT work with Firefox. No, it does not. Firefox is not supported in the drop-down list of alternative clients to the abomination of IE. Webferret developers really need to get their act together, as the prog does support Mozilla Suite-- however Firefox has been around for a long time as a replacement for Mozilla Suite.
