  Version: WM Recorder 11

  "Junk Software - AVOID"

  Pros: Quick to download and install. Probably quick to take your money, but ...

  Cons: AVOID. The download was quick. The installtion quicker. BUT the app. simply didn't work. It wouldn't connect to the Internet - even though I had a full ADSL connection running. It simply disappeared to a tool bar icon. No window, no menu options nothing. Incidentally I'm running a top of the range laptop with full MS XP MCE multi-media s/w. Task Manager showed it was Not Responding. And it refused to be closed down. In the end I had to reboot the PC just to unhook it and delete it. This is a typical junk app. of the sort that you used to get on magazine free CDs. AVOID AT ALL COSTS AND ESPECIALLY DO NOT PURCHASE IT.

  Version: WM Recorder 11

  "NOT THIS OLD VERSION, Download v11"

  Pros: On the wmrecorder.com website they now offer new version 11. Captures Real A/V, too. I tried it and it works fine.

  Cons: Expensive.

  Version: WM Recorder 11

  "Great for its niche"

  Pros: (I'm using version 10, not 11). This product makes it very simple, almost trivial, to record streaming download onto your computer. Since it intercepts the stream, not the audio-video output on your machine, there are not gaps, jumps, etc., and often the recording can be downloaded much faster than it takes to play the stream.
