This software will make almost any scanner work like it was the latest model. It rescued a Nikon scanner that was unsupported by Nikon and is better than the software that came with the scanner when new.

A little hard to use til you figure out all the options.

Summary
i mostly use scanning software to prepare a document as an email attachment. VueScan is a mature product, one to which its developer pays attention. Frequent updates keep the product highly usable.

Regular updates which reinforce this software as, if not the best, then one of the best supported programs available.
Cons
The user interface is my only complaint but, I am used to it now so I would probably complain if it was changed to something else.
Summary
I have upgraded to the Pro version which gives updates forever. That means I could download it once or twice a week. I use common sense and only download major upgrades or those that I feel are applicable to my setup. I do not automatically update, I only update about once a fortnight on average.
The programmer is excellent and obviously very good at what he does as problems are solved quickly and usually he only has to do it once and it works. My congratulations to the programmer and thanks for making my life easier
