Publisher's description
From KC Softwares :VideoInspector helps you finding out why some video files don't play correctly on your system (no sound, no video). It identifies the codec (coder-decoder like DivX) required to play a specific file. VideoInspector can also list all the codecs installed on your system, burn your video files on a CD/DVD (requires VSO's CopyToDVD), export its result in a text or HTML file, and process multiple files at the same time (batch processing).
VideoInspector is available in more than 12 languages and gives access to an interactive online help. Version 1.10.0.106 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Version: VideoInspector 1.10
Pros: If you are one of the millions that download video, this is one of the best pieces of software you can have at your disposal. Often, files are mis-tagged as one format or another and the required codec to play them back is not available to your video player. Other times you have a file in WMA or WMV format, and it has an extention that hides that fact. It is well known that WMA and WMV are more often than not acutally coded with malware and viruses that you infect your system with any time you attempt to play these files back. This is where Video Inspector comes into play. while the software cannot analyze the content of the video's "enhanced" content, or the effect it may have, it will clearly tell you that it is of one of the formats that are capable of carrying malicious code without triggering its effects. It works lightning fast, reads the header information of the file and returns the codecs needed to playback both the audio and video, and even has the option of allowing you to edit the FourCC coding to force the video to attempt to play through another codec (If you are not familiar with FourCC coding, or are unsure, it is better to leave this option alone or you can make a file perminantly unplayable). My suggestion, anytime you download any video, run it through Video Inspector, make sure the source you have recieved it from is being honest about its content, and make your decision to play or pass as you see fit, it makes good security sense.
Cons: Simplicity is not always a good thing, although this sofware is great, it needs a healthy facelift.

"The installation file is corrupt!?"
Pros: I've read good reviews about the program
Cons: I was unable to install the file. The installation file is corrupt. I tried to download it directly from the developer's site without any success.
