Publisher's Description
From Dee Mon:
Video Enhancer allows you to:
- Increase resolution of your video with Video Super Resolution technique which delivers unbelievable quality by using information from previous frames, while all the other resize methods use information from one current frame. Now you can convert your SD video to HD!
- Use hundred of VirtualDub video filters allowing you to do everything you want with your video : deinterlacing, denoising, deshaking, color correction, sharpening, visual effects etc. Video Enhancer is a lot faster than VirtualDub because all filters and codecs work simultaneously in separate threads.
- Open any video which can be played on your system and re-compress it with any video codec (DirectShow, DMO and Video for Windows) installed in your system.

"It Sounds Good, In Theory..."
Version: Video Enhancer 1.9.6
Pros
Small, and intuitively laid out. I understand the logic of it, without an 82-page manual.
Cons
After having to add the fourth component to (again) try to get it to do ~something/anything~ I gave up and uninstalled it.
Summary
I wasn't interested in download half a dozen components from various locations, I thought it would be a Ready-to-Function program... I was mistaken.
My use was a one-time necessity, that I will just have to do without. It is not worth the hassle or expense of trying to get something to work, just to fix this one mis-shot video. -
"It has potential if you like trial & error procedures"
Version: Video Enhancer 1.9.1
Pros
Hmmmmmmmmm
Cons
Freezes with Vista. Too much guesswork.
Summary
Product functionality is poor n Vista. Alway use the trail version b4 purchasing. After 02 months wait time... I have not recieved the hard copy version on disk. I will never buy online again unless its from a known & trusted vendor.

"Limitations and Freezes"
Version: Video Enhancer 1.9.1
Pros
none that I can think of.
Cons
It does not like vista-Install ok but when loaded to do enhance it froze my screen 3 times about 20% of the way through.

"Now fast and as good as possible"
Version: Video Enhancer 1.4
Pros
The new version supports multicore processors and is really fast, as to quality I compared it to the competitors (Topaz Enhance, YUV Super Resolution) and it really beats them. Don't expect wonders but it's obviously better than any resampling, if you want the best SD to HD possible at the moment Video Enhancer is for you.
Cons
There's still a vast area for technological improvements: adaptive number of frames to combine, different frame combination methods (multivariative median, WMMR, etc.), object-specific motion compensation, etc.

"Buggy"
Version: Video Enhancer 1.4
Pros
I downloaded v1.4 and was offered to upgrade to v1.8. The layout is good, and there's a wizard and Simple Mode. It's a bit more intuitive than many programs of this ilk.
Cons
However, there is no Help file, which, for a paid program, is pretty appalling; you will need to search the internet for answers. If you want to see a preview of a filter effect it tells you that you can not see a preview, but will be able to during process. This is rubbish too, because you need to see the preview in order to set the filter correctly. Other programs do it. Once you start the processing, and you find that the filter is not right, you will need to stop the process, and here get ready for a big freeze of your PC! Whenever this has happened I've been forced to sit and wait for it all to close down, and then lose my settings! Hopeless.
It's very buggy. I use XP Pro (SP2) and this program is often crashing or freezing. Whenever I try to use it with the XVid codec it just freezes up. I also kept getting crashes for no apparent reason.
Dee Mon have a damn cheek charging for such an appalling program. If you don't want to waste hours of your time, steer clear.
