  "False advertising"

  Pros: free

  Cons: "import from any video file" is simply a false statement;

  Windows Media Player does the same that i was able to get 'Video DVD Maker' to do, and does it better. Wow, i just gave a compliment to Microsoft, wow.

  "Wouldn't import any files"

  Cons: Wouldn't read any MPG or VOB file, always gave some cryptic error message. Seems the other reviewers are right.

  "Don't be fooled what this does"

  Pros: Ok first of all, it is an ok program but it does not convert files that are in .avi into the file format that DVD's use ie "Video_TS and AUDIO_TS folders". You must download another program that converts avi to VOB.

  This program simply, if you have a TV card of webcam, capture images from those devices, create a timeline and then burn them onto DVD or CD, more like as a data CD.

  Cons: Isn't all that its cracked up to be. Does nothing that you can't already do with nero if you know what your doing. Pretty rubbish really! I was expecting it to convert AVI to a format that could be read by most DVD players. Anyone know of such a program that is free?

  Pros: was not hard to use

  worked great sending movies from hard drive to dvd-r's

  Cons: does not show you how long till movie is wrote. needs some kind of bar to go by

  "Absolute JUNK!"

  Pros: NONE

  Cons: As is often the case, in addition to this free download, there is also a pay version of this program. Usually, the free version gives you just a taste of the advantages of the pay version. In this case, I see nothing. The interface is bewildering, with no decent help file. For example, it would up to YOU to know which encoder was used (i.e., DIVX, MP3, LAME, etc.) and the software offers no clues. I finally got the software to do something what appeared to be legit (add a timeline to a movie I had downloaded from the net - that is, make it so that you could burn it onto DVD) It has now been 'transcoding' for over 3 hours for a movie that is just 91 minutes long. I'm quite sure that if it ever stops (which is highly doubtful at this point), whatever it has produced will not be usable. There are actual usable free tools available, but I've learned my lesson and am just going to pay for Nero or Roxio!
