This brisk and efficient utility does a good job of converting video files to DVD format, but a high price and a small feature set lessen its appeal. Ease of use is ConvertXtoDVD's strongest point. At its simplest, you merely choose a file, set the target size, and start the conversion process. If you like, you can specify the screen size, the number of chapters, the minimum bit rate, and the priority of the conversion process. We found the conversion speed and quality satisfactory in our tests. The program's basic DVD burner lets you take your files from hard drive to disc without switching to another app.
ConvertXtoDVD's most obvious shortcoming is its inability to convert to any format besides DVD, and in that light the $39.95 price seems rather steep. ConvertXtoDVD is all right for what it is, but you can find more full-featured programs for much less.

"Be careful of VSO's 'No Refund Policy'"
Pros: For me, there is nothing to like about the product or the Company.
Cons: Converted discs may not play on other DVD players.
Audio-Video is not synchronized.
Can't get a refund.Summary: When I used the trial version of ConvertXtoDVD, which puts a watermark on the completed disc, everything seemed fine. But when I bought the software, I had problems.
First, all my converted DVDs would play on my PC, but only about half... read more >> -

"Very good overall program, could use some enhancements."
Pros: Very easy to use. Will convert anything I've thrown at it including the Sony video camera format. There was no need to install several codecs as I had to do with other programs.
Cons: Could use some better DVD menus. Does a re-install for updates.

"Great for D/Lrs & beginners, a bit rough for experts"
Pros: Its one of the fastest. It does a DECENT job of maintaining video quality though it artifacts a bit. It supports near EVERY pop or obscure vid format & makes all needed mods to make a stable DVD with or w/out menus, it supports subtitles like .SRT.
Cons: Its menuing options are easy to use, but below average. Needs options for browsing the video to grab image stills or select timespots for ani-menus. Should allow TYPING the DVD title rather than auto-use the source filename. Preview is to small.
Summary: All in all, its a SOLID effort, and novices will love its overall easy learning curve and mucho bang for the buck. It performs very well with high quality in most major areas. As an all-in-one DVD from everything program, its almost impossible to b... read more >>
