  "The fastest, most powerful binary newsreader availabl"

  Pros: It's *very* fast, even with the very large databases characteristic of heavily used binary USENET groups. It has the ability to combine usenet groups into "supergroups," eliminating redundancy in crossposts. For example, an "anime" group could consist of alt.binaries,anime, alt.binaries,multimedia.anime, plus the highspeed and DVD groups. If you open this one group, the posts for all groups appear, organized by threads (or however you want -- UE is very customizable). The latest versions even have the ability to conctenate an entire post of an anime into one line.

  The program also handles multiple servers well, allowing you to give different servers different download priorities (in case you have a combination of pay servers and free servers, for example). The algorithms are very efficient Typically, when I use NEWSPRO, it will fill my 5.4 Mbps DSL pipe solidly with mutliple connections to multiple servers.

  UE comes with an efficient binary poster with PAR2 support.

  UE comes with a subscription to a USENET search service that is very fast. One can search all posts in USENET to find topics you are interested.

  This is one newsreader that you will never outgrow.

  Cons: Documentation could be better. But there is an active support group where the author answers questions.

  "Absolutely brilliant"

  Pros: I have used a number of newsreaders (Xnews, forte agent, grabit...), and I must say nothing compares to this work. I just registered my copy - it is worth every cent. I am a developer myself, and I would have coded a newsreader exactly the way as it is done. Everything falls into place, and works fast - and STABLE. Kudos.
