This small application simply displays the duration of time that your computer has been running and nothing more. UpTime 2000 goes directly to your system tray after launching and has a generic interface accessible by right-click.
As soon as the application is activated, a single mouse click immediately displays your system's uptime in days, hours, minutes, and seconds. UpTime Clock automatically resets itself once your computer is shut down. Its settings can easily be adjusted to determine the counter's positioning on your monitor as well as its transparency, its font, and its background color. But don't get too excited. The color choices are black or white. The lack of a help file isn't much of a bother, given the program's simplicity. This download could appeal to a larger market if it had additional features: maybe an alarm feature, automatic quick notes, or even an automatic PC shutdown. If you need to keep track of how long your machine has been running, UpTime 2000 is easy to use and offered at no charge.

Pros
Does what it says with minimal frills. Nice extras for customizing look and behavior.
Cons
It should be upgraded to work better with Vista. It works, but is tricky to get Vista to start utomatically without logging in as administrator.

Pros
Very useful for monitoring laptop battery duration. Permanent on-screen display which is moveable, re-sizeable and a few other settings. No installation, just put the exe file in your startup folder.
