From Unreal Streaming Technologies :Unreal Media Server is a streaming server for Windows platforms, designed to provide multimedia delivery over LAN and Internet. Supported file formats: AVI(DivX, XVid, any encoding), MPEG-1/2/4, WMV/WMA, ASF, MP3, QuickTime. Playlist functionality allows to automatically play all the files of server's virtual folder in a loop mode. Live media sources include: digital cameras, IP cameras, microphones, TV-tuners, analog video sources connected to Video Capture card that supports DirectShow interface. Codecs used for live video compression: WMV and MPEG4; for live audio: WMA, MP3 and GSM 6.10. TCP, HTTP, HTTPS Unicast and RTP Multicast transport protocols are supported.
Version 5 supports for Windows Media codecs for encoding live audio/video sources and hardware encoding appliances so streaming hardware compresses content without software transcoding.
